Got my Hugo 2 and 2Go today and spent a grand total of 5 minutes being excited. The units won't connect securely.

To Chord's credit, I am getting two new units early next week. Also got a Mojo 2 case chucked in on top!
Hmmm... Have you checked the Hugo2 screw-hole? That looks like it may be

- An error in the case CNC process, really doubt this...
- The screw is defective
- The hole is dirty (likely this?)

I think it is a defective screw. Hence my surprise Chord were just happy to replace everything.

Been using the meenova lightening to micro usb for sometime with my iPhone and my Hugo 2 (and mojo). I recently picked up an iPad Pro 12.9, which has a usb c connector. Any recommendations on a usb c to micro usb cable?

Will I notice improvement in sound quality in my audio setup [Chord Hugo 2 (using optical) + SMSL PO100 Pro + MacBook Air (using Roon 2.0 software)] if I use a M2 MacBook Air instead of a 2017 MacBook Air?

I would not have thought so. I have a 2018 MBP and there is plenty of headroom. M2 chips are plenty fast.

With optical and on battery, you use the best setup. The source can not affect the Hugo2.
If your app is bit perfect, all is correct.

I think you are wrong,a source can definitely affect the sound of the Hugo 2.I have 5 different mobile phones [iPhone 7 Plus,iPhone 8 plus,iPhone 12 Pro Max,iPhone SE (first generation) and an android phone] in my house,my Hugo 2 sounds different with all of them while using Apple Music on those devices

I wrote “with optical” Because you wrote about SMSL PO100.
I took time to learn what is the SMSL PO100.
I found : PO100 is an ultra compact USB digital audio interface.
For me it solves the noise issue like the 2YU.
I have the 2GO and the 2YU because i am aware about noise with Hugo2, Dave, MScaler, Hugo TT2, Mojo and Mojo2.
I know the difference between 2goHugo2 and 2go2yu Hugo2.

Why is optical better?

In order not to reinvent the hard-boiled egg, I suggest you do a search on this thread about optical and Rob Watts.

Do a little research, and discover for yourself, if a smartphone can have ground loop noise.
I have allready did a research and have discovered for myself that smartphone sounds on Hugo 2 way way worse than a good DAP (from Hiby rs6 and higher)..

And I have no experience, but have an idea — 2go is more closer to DAPs than to a smartphone..

Via usb or other inputs?
Yes, both via usb input

Here my list (from worse to the best):
1. Regular PC usb
2. Smartphone/cheap daps like hiby r3 (with different tonality)
3. xDuoo X10T II
4. Hiby rs6
5. UltraRendu on Farad 7v LPS with DC-cable lvl.2 and Synergistic Research Active SE USB cable

Have not tried the 2go unfortunately
