I just wish they'd drop a small update about it, so we can even know what to expet. I know they're coming out with their high-end statement amp/preamp setup based somewhat on the Etude. But, a little encouraging news might go a long way.

If they do I sure hope they splurge on heatsinks. Is the Etude high end anyway? Fan cooled with a switch mode power supply.
I can't recal what the name of the series is. But it's about $140,000: or LBs, not sure. But I think the tech was based on the feed forward implementation from the Etude. I can't remember any more.

could they fix those issues with software updates, or is it a doomed hardware issue that can not be solved at all for existing macbook pro 2018 owners

Pretty sure Apple is trying to fix this with a software update.
It affects a lot more hardware than just Macbook Pro 2018 owners...
Anyway, you're definitely not alone. Fingers crossed a software fix comes soon.

Can anybody give the power output at 16 ohms
Dick Hyman, Thinking about Bix. You can hear how the imaging of the piano becomes a bit sloppy with an undefined spreading bass, positionally.
Somewhere between 740 mW 33 ohms to 1050 mW 8 ohms.
