DAC only versionJust wondering if anyone has any info on the specs of this DAC? Or. if there will be a DAC only version.

Having viewed @Reactcore thread on his Mscaler in a Dave body and his amazing ability, if it weren’t for the upcoming Choral scaler I’d seriously try and convince him to commission me one.
@Reactcore obviously you do this for yourself out of love and enjoyment of the hobby but I think if you wanted to you could probably have a nice little side business form people on here alone.

I found that I like listening to movie scores hence soundtrack from The Terminal - The Tale of Viktor Navorski is particularly an amazing piece. It has such an unique 'vibe' to it, kinda adventurous, mystery with some positive energy/moments, hard to put in words I just love it.
I can recommend City of prague philharmonic orchestra for all those who like movie scores, a lot of their albums are one of my favorites. For example:

@TheAttorney @alxw0w Ok I hear what you both are hearing. I think I just ignored CF because I felt it shrinked soundstage width and made things congested at times.Hard to say. As I barely listen to that kind of music.
But I'll agree with @TheAttorney:

Exactly. Even singers voice is much better with CF. Like it has shape, edges of the center images are rounded more 3D if you will.
Strong left right panning like it is happening with headphones and to some degree with speakers is just unnatural and plain wrong - to some degree of course.
Stereo was invented so you can place sounds between speakers in the space not on left or right side - like it's happening with headphones or many lesser speaker systems.
So as @TheAttorney said, I keep my CF on like 90% of the time and don't really care what type of music is being played. Sometimes when I hear that it's really off (too congested) I turn it off.
ps. this track is really nice example where I just love crossfeed even though it changes the sound so it sounds almost like a mono recording, but with amazing depth, layering and just positioning in the 3D space. You can really hear event hapening in front of you it's really an expierence.
Right now using CF2. Seems like a good compromise as TheAttorney mentioned. Vocals are much more realistic and I am able to hear the recording space better. Seems more realistic. I definitely like CF on for older recordings. Still need to test it out for newer recordings. Thanks for leading the blind.

Like many here, I have a Sean Jacobs DC4 attached to my Dave DAC and I have been very happy with the upgrade, from a couple of years back. Right from the start, I hooked it up to my Synergistic Research Earthing block via a 4ft earthing cable. This morning I happened to disconnect that connection and I must tell you, the loss of dynamics was quite startling. I am not exaggerating here, it was significant. I guess the designer planned for this, hence the dedicated earthing post on the DC4. I just thought it worth mentioning that anyone owning a DC4 that is not earthed via the earthing post is missing out on a big part of what makes music exciting.
The sound was still smooth btw, which surprises me to some extent but it was flat in terms of dynamics.
(For interest: I tested it with Lyle Lovett’s ‘Joshua Judges Ruth’ album btw. This album was mastered by the late (great) Doug Sax and has excellent dynamics.)

Does the Synergistic Earthing block come with earthing cables included? I can't tell from their site.
What cables do I need to connect the grounding block to my DC4s?

It does come with some yes. Mine did at least. Though I did buy some expensive ones with specialist connectors too. The DC4 is linked with a cheap one though.

Thank! So I just buy the grounding block, use the included cables and then connect it to my DC4? I don't need to buy any additional cables?

For the DC4, that’s what I did. They included some 8ft cheap earth leads with the block. I cut one in half and attached the cut end to the DC4. Worked a treat.
Why did I cut it in half? Because earthing will always take the shortest route.

Cool. I'm gonna buy it and try it out. I'd like better dynamics.
