Big bummer that crossfeed is ony available in headphone mode, meaning I cant send that crossfed signal to my Envy.
Plug headphones in, set the crossfeed setting, when unplugging the headphones the Dave keeps the setting also on the other outputs. It‘s not a bug, it’s a feature😎

What is PCM Plus on Dave? Is HF Fil the same as the red filter on Hugo2? What is Phase Neg/Pos?

I also need a cable to connect my Macbook pro to Dave, currently using a 20 year old Monster USB cable connected to a samsung USB to USBC adapter. I need a cable with whatever ancient USB protocol is on Dave that will go directly to USBC. Adapters lower sound quality.

Also how do you turn crossfeed on with Dave.

TY

Massive hack, TY. We need our crossfeed. Does it keep the CF setting regardless of DAC or "digital"(preamp) mode? CF is objectively superior to No CF at least on H2. I also usually leave at 2. Headphones and IEMs suffer from artificially stretched stage, I prefer note weight, tonal density, more precise separation in exchange for a slightly smaller stage. I always found things like density and texture to be the mark of high end systems and something that's hard to get from the low end systems.

When you plug in a headphone DAVE immediately goes -20db, digital volume attenuation lowers dynamic range. Does that mean that the headphone will sound worse than the output to the Amp?

Hf changed the rules. One cant post if the last post is yours.. someone else must have posted last.. so how can i update my own battery thread?

Anyway, steady designing the Choral battery appearance, it will get charge level indicators, one for digital and one for analog power section.
But its hard to concentrate.. i keep getting distracted by that blissfull silky and fullbodied sound.. lol.

Looks awesome congratulations.
Thx!
Its not finnished yet. Still have to design the charge leds circuit and ofc the charge PSU.
The balancer doesnt work as expected so im planning to give each cell its own psu meaning 12 in total packed in another Choral case.

At least i can already listen to the test setup.

Excellent, you're a true engineer.

When you plug headphones in to DAVE, the volume setting returns to how it was set the last time headphones were plugged in. DAVE remembers volume for headphones plugged in and separately headphones not plugged in, when in pre-amp mode.

The Chord volume for headphones is a class A output stage. No problems with reduced resolution.

PCM plus is the filter to use, just leave that on. The high frequency filter is like using the green filter on Qutest/Hugo 2, it uses a filter after 20khz to remove high frequency noise usually present on DSD, or high-res PCM. I woud leave that on. As far as Phase, just leave it on positive, it is impossible to know how the recording was recorded, so to keep changing that based on records is just nuts. Unless you know of a specific album recorded in a certain way.
Should the hifi filter on Dave be left off when using the mscaler ? I wonder if anyone knows.

I think so, i've read through a bunch of pages and that answer was the one i found the most people agreed with.
