Thanks folks. I have ordered my Poly. Should be here this coming week.

So Ive had some interesting " revelations" with my Poly recently and I think it has something to do with it not wanting to just join any wifi network that isn't "strong." But after a couple of days with a couple different quality wifi sources, it now picks up the wifi addresses I want -- including my hotspot on my phone And it does real well on the road via Roon arc to my Roon server at home. (Almost like it needed to learn a little flexibility::) It's not always giving me the full pop available in hi Rez tracks via Roon ARC on my hotspot, but Roon seems to know how to get the most of the signal regardless. So for those worrying about stability issues with Poly, the most glitch free and hi fidelity poly experience I've had is with Roon and Roon ARC. And now that Ive realized Tidal is just trying to make me listen to hip hop, Ive cancelled it so Im not really adding anymore to my already stretched streaming budget by exclusively running Qobuz through Roon to Poly:)

And yes, Poly/mojo /iPhone over wifi does sound better than Mojo /USB C to my iPhone.

I'm assuming you are using airplay to stream to the poly when using Roon ARC?

Yeah. I believe that’s what it defaults to — which would explain the limited hi res playback ?

Yes and yes. Airplay is limited to 16/44 if you are looking for bitperfect.

To be fair, if you don't hear a difference with airplay resampling your hires files, you're doing well.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I contacted Chord support, and they told me there is some kind of ongoing issue with the update servers. But I suspect that's not the real cause here, as other people have described the same problems, and apparently some hardware issues were at the root of it, which Chord fixed once the device was sent back to them.

I got mine yesterday. It worked well out of the box, and I could enjoy my Utopias, via Roon, for around 2 hours when I foolishly tried to update without looking here. I tried everything, but mine is struck at version 3.2.0, and Roon will get disconnected randomly.

Is there a fix, or do I need to send this back to the dealer?

It's too late in your case, but I would suggest no one purchase a Poly until Chord gets the firmware embarrassment fixed

I would just get in touch with Chord.

Okay, I received my Poly today. It looks like it has latest FW, which is good. I got it connected to my home WiFi and setup in GoFigure. I’ve also downloaded MConnect but I cant figure out how to have the app connect to my Poly. Any suggestions?

My iPhone and Poly are both connected to my home WiFi. In the MConnect app, I can see my Oppo player and LUMIN streamer. Just not the Poly.

Strike that. Another power cycle on the Poly/Mojo allowed MConnect to ID them. Now the music!

Another, if I may - if my work WiFi does not allow UPnP apps, will Roon still work? I can get Poly connected to the WiFi.

Yes, they’ve been prompt in responding since the very beginning. I’ve tried checking on different setups (different Wi-Fi networks and Roon servers), but the issue persists. During our back-and-forth emails with Chord support, based on feedback from Chord, I noticed a pattern between the file size and the dropouts. For instance, FLAC 44,1 works well, but FLAC 88,2 or higher causes dropouts. Once Chord responds, I’ll update here.

What version is your software? You mentioned you got the new one with the current version.

IIf your Roon server recognizes the Poly, it should work. However, based on the work restrictions, Roon may or may not be able to communicate with other devices on the network or it might not even get installed on your work computer. If the Roon server is going to be on your personal device, connected to your work Wi-Fi, the only way to find out is to try connecting. I’ll definitely give it a try. If you have a Roon subscription, it makes sense to use it with the Poly. The difference between UPnP and Roon is significant, especially if you have good headphones.

Likely not since the firewall likely blocks all ports except what the admin allows. I have the same situation.

Doesn't hurt to try. I had luck with a portable router using ethernet to the work network and creating a private network.

I think you’re going to be right. Also, I realized with no Roon server at my work, I can’t use the Roon app either. Such a bummer, as I’ve used it for the first time with my Poly tonight and it’s incredible sounding.

I really want to find a way to natively stream Qobuz at work. I had to use BT today and it’s significantly inferior. I highly doubt I can get away with setting up a private network. My employer is extremely serious about info-sec, as it should be (we have client data).
