I never like bashing anyone either, I hate it when people are like that. It is really easy, it won’t get you anywhere and you only mess up a nice atmosphere.

You can give a opinion, but don’t make it about the person.

That's the reason why Chord left. When Matt "rose in the ranks", Chord didn't replace him.

Rob Watts is very active, but he isn't Chord per se.

Yes Chord handled the Poly/2go poorly. But, we lost any real communication with them when Matt left.

I use Cantata on my mac to make playlists. It saves them directly/automatically to the sdcard as that is the file source.

Rob Watts is a idiot audiophile himself like all of us (meant in a positive way ), but he is a independent engineer.
(Does Chord really has a problem if he leaves with his knowledge!)

Chord leaving head-fi a poor gesture from the brand, I understand that you get sick of negativity, but that was dealt with on head-fi quickly, so they could have come back. I mean brands Like Ifi and Fiio are here too, and they get their share of comments to (zen stream for example is not flawless either)

Why It angers me, I work more than 30 years in IT, and had my share of crap against me, you think I ever let my customers in the cold?
Nomather what excuse you make, none of them are valid, they are your customers, they make you earn your living.

It does not mean you can solve all problems as a brand, but there are a lot comments I have read in this thread, that Chord could have taken to heart. They just don't want to, because some of those solutions will cost money. But that is real short term thinking, because if you solve it, the fanbase you create by doing that will make those costs easily obsolete easily.

Chord has something special with Rob Watts, but if something ever would happen to him, or he would leave, or decide to start his own company, in other words they would loose Rob Watts as knowledge, or just loose the key persons. people will remember bad service and it's bye Chord (I have seen more than one brand disappear in matter of months in my lifetime because of that attitude)

Good for you it all works fine. However in my case:

1. Does poly work with my router (really good up to date router)? No unless I connect to it's 2.4Ghz network in which case I have to also connect my iphone to that network. Connecting Poly to my hybrid 2.4/5Ghz SSID does not work.

2. Does it create hotspot my phone can find? Not in my apartment - GoFigure never lists my iphone hotspot as available wifi network (although other devices in my apartment do see it - for example my macbook pro and ipad both see it - only GoFigure does not see it).

3. Does it sound great from SD card? Fortunatelly yes when I use Poly hotspot MPD than it works and sounds perfectly - and in the end that's the most important to me and makes Poly absolutely worth having.
1, Poly only has a 2.4ghz wifi chip, 5gig is a no go as it does not have a 5gig chip.

2, Not sure why it’s not seeing your iphones hot spot, have you enabled “Allow others to join” and “Maximise compatibility” ? You also have to give it a password if I remember correctly, your iphone hotspot. Blue tooth needs to be enabled, important.

3, Agreed, playing from the sd card is probably the best way of listening to music on poly.

These are just helpful hints, if they help cool, if they don’t i’d suggest resetting your poly with the pin and starting over, also when resetting or updating remove the sd card first as both may kill it.

Make your IP anything except 192.168.1.1 (use anything from .2 to .255) and try 255.255.255.255 as the subnet.

The Poly’s IP address is 192.168.1.1.

Let me see if I have an Android to test.

Edit - it doesn’t appear that Android devices allow a blank Router / Gateway.

Yeah it does not (unless you are willing to write script and play with a terminal on your smartphone)
I was hoping I could stream my music service (Tidal) on the go using 4G with hotspot but that seems hardly possible with Android.
The poly is ok to connect to my home wifi but not to the Android hotspot ...

@jjazzy are you able to connect Poly to a personal hotspot from an Android phone.
This together with the fact that I might not be able to upgrade the firmware ever are the 2 biggest issues for me.
As I see it, the usage on the go would be limited to reading music from the SD card which is quite a bummer.
At home, I can stream from a music service without a cable which is nice.

Regarding the sound, I am not that convinced that Poly is much better compared to Wiim Mini but I need more time to figure that out.
My first impression is that streaming from my music service with UAPP gives me the best result (as compared to using the sd card and hi-res flac files bought from Qobuz).

Will give a try this weekend, will get a new set. when I received mine (poly and mojo2, they actually both died on me within 1,5 day, yes brand new)

I will borrow a android from a friend (I have everything apple at home) and have a test with Roon too

I think if you use a clean USB in, it probably won't matter that much compared to a poly, with a wiim mini it is more of a hassle... but we're talking about Poly so... which hassle is worse

1. Yes but Poly is supposed to work on the hybrid SSID but it does not for me which forces me to only use my iphone on 2.4Ghz - not the end of the world but according to what I read on this forum hybrid SSID should work (as long as the same SSID is used by phone and poly).

2. Yes I have all that enabled but it still does not work - GoFigure never lists my iphone hotspot as available network (although my mac and ipad both see it).

3. SD card playing is awesome and given Airplay limitation of only streaming up to CD quality I don't really care about those other wifi issues anyway (other than poly hotspot which fortunately works fine).

Now it is getting even worse ... if that is possible.
Trying roon, managed to have the roon server see the Poly as a endpoint, playing music selecting the Poly endpoint as output (everything seems fine on the roon server side) ... but I hear nothing at all from mojo ... I am at a lost here

You would think that the webhost would ask the OEM to back their product. All things considered
