This thread is generating far too much traffic (and emails). I'm ducking out of this group as most of the posts are irrelevant to me. I use Poly every day without issue and think the sound through the Mojo2 is great. Sorry to those of you who still do have issues, but on any occasion I've had to do so, I've found Chord customer service very helpful. For me, Poly is an amazingly versatile portable streamer and enhances music listening no end.

I hope all promised features never get delivered so this great thread lives on forever - like my chances for that to be true as well. :L3000:

Now it is getting even worse ... if that is possible.
Trying roon, managed to have the roon server see the Poly as a endpoint, playing music selecting the Poly endpoint as output (everything seems fine on the roon server side) ... but I hear nothing at all from mojo ... I am at a lost here

Make sure that when you were using the onboard MPD that you didn't somehow lower the volume. Also, make sure that Roon is set to fixed volume. And finally, make sure that you aren't on the lower volume settings (white light off). If you can play off SD card, then it's likely a Roon issue.

I've had Roon do some weird things like pretend it is playing on the endpoint but not really. This is fixed with restarting the Roon core. This isn't exclusive to the Poly. I've had the Roon saying something is playing, but not with other endpoints.

Not sure what is going on but the endpoint is streaming to Poly with Airplay. I am using a Roon Server on Windows.
I didn't know Windows could do Airplay ?
Does Roon work at all on PC with Poly ?

See my reply above.

Roon is not perfect. Yes, you can Airplay to poly via PC as Roon is using the Airplay protocol. You probably have the Airplay endpoint and Roon endpoint both enabled. I wouldn't suggest that.

I've run poly off Windows PC Roon server, Linux Roon server, and Mac Roon server. The one advantage iOS has over android with poly is that Airplay is built into the system and in general is very stable.

Thanks.
It is working now ! I had to go to a less secured PC (I guess). I made some tests and realized this time the Roon server was at fault. Did a test on another laptop and the Roon integration worked flawlessly from there.:)

1. Yes but Poly is supposed to work on the hybrid SSID but it does not for me which forces me to only use my iphone on 2.4Ghz - not the end of the world but according to what I read on this forum hybrid SSID should work (as long as the same SSID is used by phone and poly).

2. Yes I have all that enabled but it still does not work - GoFigure never lists my iphone hotspot as available network (although my mac and ipad both see it).

3. SD card playing is awesome and given Airplay limitation of only streaming up to CD quality I don't really care about those other wifi issues anyway (other than poly hotspot which fortunately works fine).

Maybe your poly is faulty ? I say that because I have it on 4 ios devices, two phones and 2 ipads and it works more or less flawlessly now, which it didn’t when first released. Or may be it’s the hybrid ssid thats causing problems ? I have both my 2.4 and 5ghz networks separate so I have no experience with hybrid ssid as I prefer to separate the channels.

What I have done and which may help is, I use my spare iphone solely for music, if you have a spare old phone, maybe it’s something to look in to ? I know, you shouldn’t have to but if you have a spare one, atleast using that lets you keep your other phones battery from running down whilst listening to tunes whilst on the go.

I will admit, when setting up poly after a reset, I also get problems with trying to setup a network in gofigure, some times it just doesn’t take in the gofigure settings, but, once gofigure finally accepts the new network the problem is gone.

What router do you have ?

Now I’m getting Update Server Connection Issue too.

Same here, tried at the weekend to update but I got the same, I’ve been told that it’s a problem with the server and it’s being worked on and we will get an update when it’s done.

Much appreciate your offer to help but I'm all set and happy with the poly setup I settled on. I have already bought a separate android phone to dedicate to poly for music playing but after trying different setups have decided I will only use the poly in it's hotspot mode. I was actually able to get wifi working with my iphone on my dedicated 2.4Ghz network (used only for iot type of devices) as well but in that case I have to also have my iphone on that 2.4Ghz SSID and I do not like dropping it down from 5Ghz. Also, I use Apple Music for streaming (happy with it now that it can do hires) but because of Airplay limitation it can only be streamed to poly at up to CD quality resolution so I decided if I want to use Apple Music I will just connect my iphone to Mojo2 via usbc cable to get the full resolution streaming. But most of the time I'm more than happy with just leaving Poly permanently in it's hotspot mode and playing from SD cards with MPD MAFA app. That sounds better to me than using the usbc cable to stream Apple Music to Mojo2 anyhow and also avoids having to open the dreaded GoFigure app to reconfigure anything. As far as my router I have Netgear Orbi Quad_Band Wifi 6E (RBRE960) and it is a fantastic router (I have been working in IT for over 30 years and have had many routers and usually keep up to date with that type of equipment).

Oddly I have no issue with dual band networking. My iPhone connects to 5 GHz and works fine with the Poly on 2.4 GHz. Router is Asus RT-AX86U.

Yes it is strange. Even more strange to me is that GoFigure does not list my iphone hotstop as available wifi when I try to set that up in my appartment. It lists many others SSIDs (I'm in apartment complex) but never my iphone hotspot which can be seen and connected too withouth problems from my macbook and ipad. But I don't care about any of that any longer at this point - even if I could get either of those methods to work reliably now after trying all possible setups I would still use poly in it's hotspot mode to play from SD rather than stream resolution limited Apple Music over Airplay.

do you have Maximize Compatibility enabled when the iPhone is in hotspot mode?
