Just adding a comment that poly works well for me. I use it with SD Card and playlists created using Rigelian when I’m on a flight.

I’ve used the poly hotspot with the iPhone connection without an issue and also no problems connecting poly to the iPhone hotspot. It’s all just worked for me.

I turned up at my holiday cottage about an hour ago. I scanned the WiFi QR code the owners had conveniently left to connect my iPhone. I then fired up my MacBook and shared the network details to it. I then powered on poly and Mojo2 and opened Gofigure. I selected the WiFi for the cottage and copied the password from the iPhone settings and pasted it to Gofigure. It connected right away and I’m now blissfully listening to London Grammar streaming from QoBuz via Roon all with a stunning view across the sea from a Cornish cliff top. Yep Poly works fine for me.
Certainly not as easy as a dap without issues. And Roon is not a good example, that is like buying a car and having to get a monthly subscription to be able to start.

Sd card is only convenient if you don’t change your sd card music collection a lot.

It is thing after thing 😉 I own chord products to, tt2 + mscaler and a qutest, even mojo2 works, but poly2…. No thats a big fail with many many issues.
I have no doubts but.....

IOS 18 beta breaks airplay to Poly while in Poly hotspot mode. First iterations always have incomplete features.
This is more of what I meant in response to the original post and things not working after iOS 18 BETA update

Already a reality. Some car manufacturers have subscriptions for features like heated seats and remote start. I get what you are trying to say. You shouldn't have to buy 3rd party apps/services to make a device fully usable.

You have the causation turned around. Those with Roon benefit from a Poly. I had multiple other endpoints and devices on Roon prior to the Poly. You don't have to buy Roon for the Poly though. Nor wouid that be the best use of money. And, Chord has a retail distribution model. The dealers are responsible for support. I had a problem with my KEF LS50II wireless speakers not being seen as a Roon endpoint and losing connectivity. Dealer helped sort it out. I bought my Poly online. No support except for HeadFi and Matt Bartlett back in the day. Oh yeah, a FAQ page as well.

Oh Poly!

I have an early model and went through all the problems this thing had and still has. Still, I love the concept, and was even quite happy for a while, at least since I had the battery replaced by Chord a few years ago.
Now we're close to summer holidays, where I pictured myself listening to Classical music in exceptional sound quality through Poly/Mojo2 in a cottage in the Highlands, watching the sea.

Screeching halt!

For days now Poly doesn't connect to wi-fi any longer. Instead the Pstatus indicator flashes yellowish/orange. Poly therefore isn't visible in any UPnP/DLNA app. Also GoGigure does not see the device.

Has anyone by any chance encountered this?

Who knows what could be the issue when it comes to wifi... However GoFigure only depends on bluetooth so that is concerning that it does not see the device - I have not had that issue even though I feel like I already ran into pretty much all wifi issues that have been mentioned on the forum. Maybe you want to consider googling how to manage Poly using the pin method - which was the only way to set thing up (and I assume reset if needed) before GoFigure came out ...

I had the same issue with iphone 15 pro and bluetooth, connecting, disconnecting, connecting, dissconnecting and than total app crash, time after time, and just a very few times it worked, but don’t wait to to long, because it could crash within 30 seconda again

I tried to access Hotspot mode via voice prompts after pressing the Config button. No luck. No voice prompts. A minute or so later the Pstatus indicator flashed green briefly, switched to constant blue for 3 seconds and then started flashing yellow again, like previously. That brief sign of life was visible only once. I've tried pressing Config several times over, but it now only flashes yellow afterwards.

Perhaps someone at Head-Fi could contact this particular sponsor and ask them to help out a member?

Thanks a lot. I had also just pasted the error description to Chord‘s support web form.

If this has something to do with USB connectivity than the problem certainly is with Poly, not Mojo2. At least Mojo2 plays music received from a Mac either through its USB-C- or microUSB-ports just fine.

I guess you already (because it was a suggested many entries earlier/above, possibly noted in the FAQ) let run down the battery of both Devices completely to force some sort of reset? Maybe use some tweezers (Pinzette) to remove possible unwanted stuff in the USB socket/port?

Will do so overnight, thanks!

In this official Chord Electronics video for 2go is a promise that poly will be able to create playlist on its own, unless I misunderstood the video or I am doing something wrong, the Poly - 3 years after the video has been published - is still missing this functionality. Am I right?

Next questions: is Rigelian or M.A.L.P still the way to go when one need to create playlist for SD card used in Poly?
