Thank you, I will try with Volumio available for iPhone
1. Every time I switch on again using the Poly in hot spot mode it starts to re-index
2. It doesn't index all the way through the card/songs. The maximum I've got to is 3.5k (out of the 7k) songs
It sounds like Glider is running into some trouble while indexing your library. Please send me a PM so we can investigate further.
I’ve been using glider on iPhone with Poly and have a few general questions. When I play from an SD card, I can still control the volume from my phone? Poly’s frequency light is green, so I know I’m not streaming with AirPlay. But I’d like to understand what is actually happening? Is the misuc going from Poly to the phone and back? Is there a reduction in sound quality because of this? What about then reducing the volume in (presumably) software? What about this?
You'd have to ask Chord how this is implemented on their end, but Glider is simply invoking the standard MPD 'setvol' command as documented here: https://www.musicpd.org/doc/protocol/playback_option_commands.html. The audio stream is still playing back directly from the SD card, and is not streaming to your phone and back again.

I had flakey problems with a cheap sd card.Glider Problems!
Hi All - I'm a bit confused using Glider, which I downloaded today. I've got c7k songs on my 256GB Sandisk Ultra MicroSD XC1 card (Ex Fat configured and Itunes Library copied in). Glider can see Poly OK but I've got two problems I'm experiencing using Glider:
1. Every time I switch on again using the Poly in hot spot mode it starts to re-index
2. It doesn't index all the way through the card/songs. The maximum I've got to is 3.5k (out of the 7k) songs
Is there a setting or something else I've missed on Glider? Or is there something else going on?

It shouldn't be too hard. The trick is to make sure you know Poly's present ip address. You then go to Profiles on MALP's menu. Press + to create a new one. Give it a sensible name. Add the IP address and save. After a second or two it should connect. It's much easier to use MALP if you can tell your router to give Poly a fixed IP address. Otherwise you can end up creating new profiles every time it's given a new one. A simple trick to get it working is to put Poly in hotspot mode and connect to the hotspot with your android device. Then create a new profile in MALP called Poly Hotspot for which the IP address of Poly will always be 192.168.1.1.
Thank you, I shall certainly give that a try, if I have any hair left. I managed to connect with BubbleUPNP last night, but I have noticed that I am no longer able to connect and try as I might cannot get to AP mode either.
I will try again after work, that plus both Mojo and Poly on charge just in case that's the problems as I couldn't even factory reset the d**n thing either.
Me and my hoop jumping. Probably would have been easier to wait for the beta of GoFigure Android to arrive in my inbox, but alas still waiting (hunt hint Chord)

It defaults to that and so no need to tinker.Ok for the host number but what about the port: 6600?

Maybe try full reformat of the disk - I think it’s ex fat 32 - maybe only put a few files on to see what’s happens to see if you can deduce a reason. Not cheap at £100:

Finally getting to grips with M.A.L.P (once I got GoFigure installed)
Unbelievable how I managed to complicate matters especially with the configure reset pin not appearing to work for me on my Poly (that's another story)
What I have ended up doing was activating my Hotspot on my Android devices and connecting to Poly this way, this will be my most likely use case scenario especially with my commute or listening away from home.
With 'GoFigure' I can now locate my Poly's IP address and thanks to your instructions above, set up a profile using this and the rest is a piece of cake, especially with my DSD library now being played bit perfect and not, as I found with BubbleUPNP, converted to 192Khz (or is this just me?)
Next to work on my M.A.L.P set up
1. Lbrary
2. Playlists
3. Album Art etc
4.Larger SD card
(I don't ask for much do I?)

You need to have enough room on the sdcard for the index based on how much you have used for music, I think there is a note either here or on Chord site for the amount to leave available. That could be why the index is not completing and keeps retrying. Not cheap at £100:

You'll find that there's a bug with Chord's current MPD implementation on the Poly where it doesn't read tags in MP3 or DSD files and thus won't stick them in the library. You currently have to browse for them and play using "Files" (although seems like you've already worked that out if you're playing your DSD files but thought it worth repeating in case you're tearing your hair out wondering why!)
Enjoy your gapless playback too! (I don't understand how anyone could put up with DLNA for this reason).
