Solid Wifi connection all the way without any disconnection when I listening to it yesterday after the firmware update.
Great job!
I am so jealous! ..Sometimes I get through one song, other time two songs... heck, on lucky days 4-5 songs in...before (as always) it ends up dropping and I have to restart the renderer before I can play through poly again, then cross my fingers I get a whole song before it drops.

Have you tried contacting
mitch@chordelectronics.co.uk for troubleshooting? He assisted me successfully via email instructions when I was experiencing drop outs. The unit should normally play without drop outs.

Shouldn’t be a bonus feature to celebrate...it’s a main function of the device as advertised (stream music over WiFi).

If configured correctly you shouldn’t routinely experience any drop outs. Chord will let you know if a fix can be had from troubleshooting through their office. They will likely also offer a hardware replacement if the device is deemed faulty (no fault determined on your end stemming from your set up).

My hope would be...IF either is fixed (device or proper config setup)...along with the release of the critical Gofigure app...THEN most owners will have a universally enjoyable experience. The device still stands as one the best ways to stream music from a portable phone...the SQ is unparalleled...but it’s directly contingent upon the functionality of the device. Unfortunately...first pass to the public has been problematic. I imagine Chord will learn & improve on the 2nd iteration of the device. Those owners will be benefactors of the initial rollout.

On a positive note.
After some evaluation my replacement Poly is performing flawlessly. :)
The service was top notch from Tom at Chord, due to my remote location he offered to pop it in the post directly to me, whic4h of course I accepted graciously. ..... Thank you to Chord and Tom for excellent customer service.

I've had my moans about them and had a laugh every now and then at their expense.
But I kicked my irritation into touch, sat back, read on here and waited. For me they've come through in the end.

If you want the best response from folks, it's best to approach them in a reasonable manner. Normally works best in my humble opinion, It does with me! ..... Only if I get an unreasonable response to a reasonable request do I get vexed!! ..... Or if someone makes a thoughtless / inappropriate comment, I'll say no more.

I' a little disappinted after reading that the App does not enable SD card play back actuated with Bluetooth without the need for a third party MPD. However I'm now getting used to Glider, so I can live with it, I'll have to I guess!
If I've got the above wrong please correct me, I think that's right from what ive read though. Only on here intermittently now.

Love the sound coming out of my Noble Kaiser Encore.... Wonderful, can't afford a Hugo, supposed to be better but I'm happy enough for now.

Just one thing I need to get sorted now. I'm not finding it as easy as it should be to connect to my iPhones hotspot.
I connect to Poly easily in Poly hotspot mode. Been using DLNA and Poly hotspot when away from WiFi.
I did connect to iPhone hotspot some time ago but can't get it at the moment.
Entered my iPhone name "styksphone" and my password but it won't lock on and connect?

Something simple no doubt.

Anyway, I thought I'd post something positive., Gaia knows we need it! .. :)

To connect to your iPhone hotspot, enable the hotspot, then make your hotspot is discoverable, by bringing up the control centre on the phone, slide action from bottom to top - then press and hold the Bluetooth icon for a sub menu, which allows discoverability.

Discoverabiliy only lasts a few minutes, so if you lose connection, you need to repeat this step.

As I was packing up my Poly to send away for replacement I opened up the original fold-out manual that was still inside the box. I read through it for kicks and giggles and I found this part really stood out considering this Poly was delivered wwwwaaayyyy back in early November 2017.

And now that it has been several weeks since the last Where's GoFigure update stating "GoFigure app should be released by Apple within the week" I have to ask: When is GoFigure really coming out?
I'd like see the app make an appearance by the time I receive my "new & improved" Poly.

Definition of “wait”

As a verb:
1.stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens.
2.used to indicate that one is eagerly impatient to do something or for something to happen

As a noun
1.a period of waiting.
2. British archaic: street singers of Christmas carols.

At this point, I am using the British archaic "wait" definition as a noun and singing Christmas carols as I expect to see GoFigure around Christmas

I do know, that asking and complaining wont impact the release date of the finnished GoFigure app.
Also, I would like to note, that I am very happy with the service I got from chord, the communication with Tom was very helpful and I have a replacement Poly, that works much more reliable than the prvious two(!) I had.

Then again, I do wonder why the app is not released and reading this: https://developer.apple.com/support/app-review/ it sounds as if there is a substantial problem or a repeated app rejection happening, we would not be waiting much more than 48h for a app approval process on the apple side, right?
If that would be the case, is it possible, that in the planned way, there will not be a gofigure app released at all? just wondering....

I'd like to add that the support I've had from Mitch has been great - swapping out my previous faulty power-on unit was very easy - and when it works I've never experienced better mobile audio than using the Poly to play it's own SD card files.
However, possibly because of the wide number of different usage cases, I think it hasn't been as thoroughly tested and debugged as it could have been. I do believe it will (it must!) get better over time and niggles will be resolved - in the mean time Chord would do well to be as transparent as possible and utilise the wealth of user experience here to prioritise fixes and foster good will.
Case in point - the IOS and Android apps. It does really seem like something has gone badly wrong with the Apple app submission - I do think we are due an update.

Ar, ok thank you.
Strangely I can't remember doing that last time, my old brain no doubt!

Thanks again I'll do that...... Just a few more questions if I may.
I presume home network/wifi would have priority and Poly will select that over iPhone hotspot?
If I want to use iPhone hotspot while at home with my wifi avaiable is there a way I can get Poly to choose iphone over my home network? Without going into access mode, or other fiddly diddly? ...... I presume "go figure" will make that sort of thing straight forward If it's not already?

I don’t think there is a way to assign priority, what I do is keep my local hotspot off when I want to use the home WiFi, but switch it on when I’m in the car (home WiFi is out of range), so it’s an either or kind of thing.

I find if I keep my phone close to poly it will connect to the phone hotspot rather than my home wifi when I try to connect at home. I'm assuming this is because poly connects to the strongest signal available. I do this fairly regularly as I like to get poly connected to my phone before I head out for a walk. This works both on my andoid and my wife's iPhone.

Ok thank you both, I'll try the stronger signal method. ..... Or, orrr, I'm havin a thought here,... what about a lead lined box for PolyJo and phone in your front room! ..... That'd do it. :)

I had contacted them through the website and had one of the USA distributors reply a couple of weeks later asking about my firmware, I am now waiting to hear back. Kind of a slow process but I'm being patient. Thanks for the suggestion though, if I don't hear back soon I will email Mitch directly at your advice.
