I have a Samson SR850i and was wondering where you guys buy your earpads from. I've looked into the AKG k240 earpads but the were too expensive(~$40). I bought the headphones for $40 a year or so ago so I don't feel comfortable spending $40 on a pair of earpads. Anything around the $10 line? Any DIY's to retrofit some velour into the head phones?

There are Beyerdynamic velours for $30 at Amazon. They are difficult to install but do fit

There are some Pleather ones you can buy on Amazon for $15 that are much more comfortable then the stock pleather. I bought them for my superlux and they were a big improvement. Also kind of hard to install but still fit.

Are they deeper then stock? The tip of my ears touch the inner part of the headphones, which makes it a little uncomfortable.

I bought some pads for $13 or so from ebay seller "wang_yifei", currently item number 261076791669 - they are pleathers that allow the ear to touch the driver.  I cut a doughnut of 1/4" foam (4 inches outside diameter, 2.75 inches inside diameter) using this:

and when tucked under the pad it nicely moves the driver off of the ear.  They are very soft and comfy, miles ahead of the stock pads, and very easily go on.

I also have a pair of the spendy AKG velours - the cans seem to sound just a bit mellower with the velours - perhaps there is a bit of treble attenuation? Otherwise, not much difference between the pleathers and the velours.
