yeah, if someone would want a flat TOTL DAP, the LPGT is the way to go (also best EQ in a DAP available at the moment ... for info: I just tested the LPGT but alas do not own it)

Correct flat , narrow soundstage.

I had the n8 and now have the 1Z, don't understand your "way better" the n8 has more power but in the other hand the 1z has a much better UI and battery life, soundwise they are diferent but both great sounding players, the n8 is more on the DTR1 sound flavor than the 1Z, the 1Z has even more emotional sound than the n8, but if I could I like to have the three, N8, 1Z and Dtr1

I had tried dtr1 but still wondering of its hype. Am I missing something but didnt find it exciting at all.

I know, it's really off topic since we are in N8 thread, but the opinion about DTR1 is very dependent on pair up synergy. OK, back to N8 topic

Yes, N8 is still the best sounding dap so we can stay the course.

i thought the N8 could play (almost) any format, but it seems to have troubles with .WV.wav pack

i really prefer these,and the N8 can suss the cue and see all the songs,but won`t play them

Is it a done deal that N8 wont support these files?

i am on FW 2.3,and really prefer not to leave it,it is the most solid FW for me so far

Yes, it will play wave files, but not the .WV (WavPack) for some reason
