😅😆
Really ? 🙃😄 its 250mw per channel in balanced and 60mw in Se.
I dont see what issues you are talking about its darn clean even at max volume!
With a slight hiss up and still cleaner then n6ii....

The Se will easily drive 45ohm headphones by the way.

With balanced anything up 75ohm is also very good.

I never use Se anyways as the balanced overdo it by big margin.
And when you talk about distortion it sounds as you mean the frequency are totally failing and inaccurate, i dont feel anything like that...
I'll stop at saying that many audio equipment manufacturers--even big-name companies, do lie about their measurements from time to time, more or less. It's not really a problem that the actual measurements of the device doesn't match the stated specs 100%, but I'll be quite mad if a device only lives up to 60% of the advertised technicality, while being one of the most expensive equipments out on the market.

I am not saying that the WM1Z cannot produce sound at an audible level when used with high impedance headphones, but to fully explore the potential of those headphones I'd say go with a decent external amp... I'm sure your tiger ears will appreciate the music more :)

An additional amp for 1z with headphones is a very good option to consider but for my tia fourte noir + pw1960 4wires I am on low gain and 65/120 so I have enormous amount of mw in backup 🙂

I have no idea if sony lie or not on there specs. What I do know they dont like disclosing those specs lol

I was an owner of WM1Z for some time and it was great with BA IEMs. But when I switched to Hybrid and DD IEMs it was lacking power, so I switched to more powerful DAPs. And what I don’t like in Sony DAPs it’s the understanding of fully digital sound)
By the way impedance is not the most important thing, sensitivity has more serious impact.

Haha yes, I'm aware that impedance is not the one defining characteristic to speak of when it comes to any kind of headphones, but generally, when we look up amplification modules, the output power scales down (usually non-linearly) with an increasing load. So without being headphones-specific, we can preliminarily evaluate the quality of the amp circuit design by examining how well it carries a load. If an amp circuitry performs poorly when loaded, I feel like the sensitivity a particular headphones no longer matter as much, because the amp is already not versatile/powerful enough to handle different gears. There are very expensive gears out there that advertise very competitive measurements, only that those measurements are taken with no loads(basically they are taken in line-out mode, and the performance drops ghastly with phone-out).

I dunno, I listen to N6ii E02 with HD800, high gain about 75 volume and it sounds fabulous!!
I'm sure they do. Who knows maybe the N6ii will sound better after some burn in. But as of right now I prefer the M15.

I'm pretty sure that the noise issue is related to cable (mentioned by AndyKong previously) and RF interference. I've got the same problem with one of my cables and E01 module. Noise becomes stronger when I'm near my computer and disappears when I touch it with my hand. The rest of the cables I have show no such issues.

Well I just received the E02 and looks like I can’t live with the hiss on my OG Solaris it’s more than the Hugo 2 so I’m unsure what direction to go in now move on to a different dap or different card maybe the E01.
My Fiio M11 has less hiss also....I must say I’m disappointed.

T01 has 1/2 the hiss of e02

Such a shame because it sounds better than the A01 If the hiss was lower I would be happy ...I’m going to have a look into AK players at a similar price point.
You could also look into the FiiO M15. I find it has much less hiss than the N6ii E02 had and I think it sounds better at least to my ears. But that could just be synergy with my gear.

I said T01 not A01 lol. Have you tried it? It has a nice organic touch to the sound very addictive try it. Not audible hiss, it very small

Everybody hears it differently, I know you will ask a dozen of people with that same N6ii and the same module using Solaris or Andro, and they will all hear it differently. When you play EDM or pop or multi-instrument-layered tracks at normal listening volume - you not gonna hear much of hissing. But if you play some instrumental or vocal classical track with a single non-synthesized instrument intro or a drop and at lower volume level, you will hear it more pronounced with sensitive multi-driver IEMs. That's just the way it is. Thus people who say they do or don't hear it, each one is right in their own way relative to what and how they listen and of course their ear sensitivity and hearing level.

@Luke- the only thing I can recommend, switch to using single ended adapter for E02. You can get something as cheap as new DDHifi or ask any cable manufacturer to make a custom one for you. I mentioned in my E02 review that going from balanced to single ended with very sensitive IEMs like Solaris/Andro will cut down the hissing, to make it sound even lower than from E01 directly. Of course, that's relative to how I hear it, but worth a shot if you are willing to try it.
