i loaned the N8 for a time and enjoyed it.

How does the N6ii with E02 compare to the N8?

I’ve just had a message on the N6ii that says Google Play Store is using up battery. I’ve tried to look at shutting it down but I’m not sure how. Can someone help?

Edit: my battery is draining quite a bit. I charged the dap Friday evening to 98%. I didn’t use it then until this morning, where it was at 71%. I used this morning for about 2 hours and it dropped from 71% to 47%.

How does the N6ii with E02 compare to the N8?

i had to ponder this query as

1). i have just got the unit.

2). audio memory is a fickle thing.
(its been a while since i had the N8 which i liked).

3). A quick im at home, a shop or a show can be spotty/inaccurate.
- living with a device for a while reveals more.

4). in some ways the N3pro (which i havent tried) i imagine could/might be a mini N8 ???

5). Testing the E01 amp today and its switchable A and AB class amps gave me more insight into the potenital and available variety the N6ii may present with further listening. A class E01 might be close to the N8 non tube side of things - but this is on faulty distant audio memory. AB the more warmer tubey side??

i have tried 2 out of the modules so far. I have positive thoughts towards the dap and look forward fo exploring it further and comparing it with similar priced daps.

I can certainly see what other experienced head fiers have enjoyed and praised about the N6ii with my so far short listening time.

Are you sure it's Google Play Store? Or is it Google Play Services? If it's Google Play Services then you can't really shut it down as several apps will use the functions that it provides. If it's Google Play Store then you can just quit it like any other app.

Thanks. I’ll wait to see if it shows up again and I’ll make a proper note of it. The issue here was that I pressed on the message expecting it to take me to the required place, but instead it just disappeared. Something was eating my battery though.

I had exactly the same thing happening, including I am not sure about the exact identity of the complaining app/service either. Thus I‘ll wait and see, too.

Oh, I knew this would be asked. The answer is that I am not sure, at least I didn‘t observe a drain. Had been doing s.th., when that message popped up. I clicked it, and it vanished, same as yours did. I then checked whether Google Play looked like doing s.th., but it didn‘t. Thus I went ahead and rebooted the DAP. Nothing peculiar up to now, maybe one or two days later.

I think this one is going to be released officially tomorrow (9/24)? And it is just Line Out, 3.5mm and 4.4mm without amplifier. This card is designed to be used with external amplifiers.

Yep same here. Looks like the issue is bigger than anticipated.
