E02 is not bright and has tight bass with my Noir Tia.

E01 is even smoother I found.

T01 is the brightest of the bunch.

Interesting with a variety of opinions! But we keep thinking there must be truth out there

After spending substantial time with E01, I came back to cycle through A01/T01/E01 and I finally found a perfect IEM for T01! I always gravitated towards A01 and never really warmed up to T01. Finally last night, I found that the IER-Z1R has wonderful synergy with T01. Wide, spacious, and best of all the tonal balance from sub-bass to treble becomes perfect! In comparison, Z1R becomes a little too boomy and dark with A01 (maybe too much lift around 100-200Hz). Good but not spectacular with E01. In fact, DX220+Amp8FE was my goto for Z1R. I think DX220 gives a more intimate stage whereas T01 gives almost out of the head experience. It was one of those ah-ha moments and just enjoy the music!

Maybe there's a correlation with Vitaly2017's comment about T01 vs WM1Z and synergy of WM1Z with Z1R.... (I have not heard WM1Z, for the record)

Just thought I share in case anyone is looking to try a combo like this.

T01 was the closest in sq to my modified 1z/romi and E02 to stock 1z.

Ier-z1r with stock 1z and stock balanced cable was bright in treble. Like it begged for a pure silver or copper custom cable...

I have not tried ier-z1r with t01 I think its less bright then stock 1z.
I personally prefer Tia Trio an Noir over ier-z1r

Dear Andy,

I've just shot an email to UAPP support as follows:

"Dear Davy,

I have just updated your UAPP to version 5.6.0 on Cayin N6MKII using module T01. After the update whenever I play a DSD/DSF file there was just hissing noise. All other files played fine.
As I owned all the modules I tried playing the same DSD files on module A01, E01 and E02 and they all play fine on these three modules. Can you find out why T01 is different and will there be an update to correct the situation?

Can you shed some light on this as well? How is T01 different from the others?

I have a reply from UAPP support saying that the only difference between the T01 module to all the others is that it can have PCM sampling rate of 192 kHz (the others are 384). Is that the reason why only T01 cannot utilise UAPP to play DSD on Cayin N6? But I can't see why cos the DSD sampling rate is also the same as the others. Can you please shed some light on this?

Obviously if I switch to "Android driver" instead of "HiRes driver in the internal audio driver setting in UAPP everything plays just fine as everything is up/downsample to 192kHz. But then I lose the color dot in MQA decoding.

You should try Z1R with E02, it‘s on another level. Much better than the pairing with 1Z.

The treble with 1Z gets a bit too hot for my taste. E02 tames it and make it sound more natural, and it also improves both the bass (more dynamic and visceral) and mids. My 1Z is now reserved only for M5 and i4.

Ah! I had the E01 module in mine. Ah well. I think my brain will be happy with the 1Z. I couldn’t stop thinking about the z, even though I loved the N6ii. If you only listen to Z1R, E02 would be better If you have other IEMs in your collection then 1Z might be better.
