I think that is pretty much intentional, most makers seem to want the Flagship to stand alone at the top rather than looking like an incremental upgrade.
I would be surprised if it was intentional. If you look at it from a price perspective there is a huge difference between the N5 at £400 and the N8 at £2,500. I think that gap goes well beyond wanting your flagship to stand alone. I wouldn’t surprised if they didn’t intend, at some stage in the near future, to release something in the £700 to £1,000 price range.
