a comparison between N6ii (E01) and ibasso dx220 (amp8) in sound quality would also be interesting, please

If you wouldn’t care about the two different outputs between N6ii/E01 has 3.5SE and DX220/ amp8EX has 4.4 bal here what I have listened so far (burn in time : N6ii has around 25 hrs but DX220 has only 6 hrs). Both are sounding almost the same; however, N6ii/E01 is smoother and has huge soundstage with deep and punchy layering bass but DX220/amp8EX has more lush vocals with small soundstage and bass is bloating (still need to burn in)...
To be honest I use Phantom and Ares Audio Sakeishi cable to listen to N6ii/ E01 whereas the using Spartan IV and Eros II 8wire to listen to DX220/amp8EX that makes Spartan singing I have never heard before...

I can’t comment on that, but the closest motherboard to DX200/AMP8 is T01 to me in terms of signature. From what I am reading, E01 would rather compare to AMP4S or AMP5.

Dx200 put me off having a dap for ages until I got the urge again. Went hiby r6 to cayin n6 in a week or two. Would have been totally happy with n6ii if I wasn't given N8 on loan for demo. Price wise the n6 can't be beaten imo, wasn't an easy decision moving it on.

I am not talking performance but signature, I personally owned AMP4 not 4S.

Beware of X is better than Y, and awful or bad is very very excessive to say the least. You might not like DX200/220 but it’s hard to argue those DAPs are very good as well. There is room for different flavors I parted with DX220 and went N6ii because the signature fit my taste better. But iBasso does rock, DX160 is fantastic value for money for example.

Naaao I know what I hear lol. I accepted your opinion that said earlier that n6ii vs lp6k was better and you said also be carefull with a vs b but.

Harsh cold analytical treble no thanks. Its far from smooth.
Unreliable software, bad cheap components almost made me death...

Let’s get back on topic, I am not so patiently waiting on DHL to deliver E01 for some reason it’s in Brussels since yesterday but will only be delivered next monday... heck, I could drive there and come back and have it tomorrow lol... just a 4h drive. DHL, yes not express on this one... shipped last Saturday.

Not going to complain too much, the N8 is keeping me busy

Yeah I get the xMas day part but there is Thursday and Friday after that... puzzling for express to take over a week, already went through customs so not slowed down by this.

I would say very much genre dependant. I mostly listen to rock, or variations of it. The sheer authority the n8 had over the E01 won my favour. N6 as a package is better, better gui, faster, better features / os, smaller, lighter, really impressed with it. But at the end of the day I use it sat at home or at my desk, I can get by with sluggish os, and it's sq that is more important to myself.

For on the go, n6 no question about it, not to mention price difference. As for E01 vs T01, I would need more time with them to make that call.

Yes and it’s clumsier probably to do with the TouchScreen being lower spec’ed
