Indeed there are a few choices from aliexpress or taobao, but they are based on generic design, so are kind of bulky and thick, I have bought one to check out but it was laying somewhere in the bottom of the drawer now.

Will contact you when I figure out what I can do with the screen protector. From what I recalled, N6 comes with a spare screen protector in its original packing, check that out if you still have the box around.

the 'bigger box' approach is the easiest approach for having a case, I blame the awkward shape for that.

I know there's a spare screen protector and I already used it

Please add a replaygain and LOCK prefs. So I wish to control a DAP when screen is turn off. And one very important thing - I wish to have an ability to exclude a folder from a library scanner. (by special name suffix or some file inside a folder)

Hi, guys.

Looks like that N6 can not charging while powered off completely. So, it constantly drains about 0.1-0.13Ah and it equals charging power. My N6 charging for 13 hours and still has a 99%. Charging power does not change during last 9 hours and = 0.12-0.13Ah. FW 4.0

My N6 power off completely at 8% battery indicator and ask me for charging. Is it normal?

upd: today everything is ok, discharged to 0-1% and power off. Why it is now stable?

Battery controller does not work properly. Begin charge at 51%, 1.68A. At 99% I see that current charging amperage is 0.4A  - very high for 99%. Ok. Wait 20min, it dropdown to 0.3A. Charged capacity: 2670mA. Then I unlink charging cable and connect it again, amperage dropdown immediately to 0.09A. Cayin does not answer by e-mail :frowning2:

fwiw, my comparison of the n6 and qp1r, using k812's, is here. for me the qp1r sounded better than the n6, and - at least with k812's- i'm pretty confident i could distinguish the two.

I have checked this out with my N6, and this is the result:

Before Charging:

After charging overnight for 8 hours:

So the N6 can charge upto 100% if needed.

Again, I'll advise not to pursue the final 1% charging because N6 is powered by lithium battery, and we should not completely discharging or fully charge a Lithium battery to 100% at every charging cycle. Unlike NiCad batteries, lithium-ion batteries do not have a charge memory. That means deep-discharge cycles are not required. In fact, it's better for the battery to use partial-discharge cycles and avoid over-charge. I'll avoid the use the N6 beyond the last 20%, and will stop the charging at around 90%, and after something like 10/15 charging cycle, I'll do a deep drain to the last 2%, and then charge it up to 99% again. I was told this will extend the lifetime of the Lithium battery significantly,

It seems that I cannot add files to the playlist (if the song is from a whole track audio file with cue sheet).

You are correct, if the song is from a whole track audio file with cue sheet, this is in fact a form of playlist already, we cannot include a partial playlist in a new playlist.

Ask you to recharge is normal, but power off completely at 8% battery is abnormal.

Is this an one-off event or a repeated instance? If the problem is repeatable, we'll setup an investigation to check this out. Please record the state of the player when this happen again and PM me the detail,. Is the N6 playing a song when it power off? DSD or PCM? or is it idling? or Indexing Music library? We can try to replicate the situation by the state of the machine you provide and test our units at low battery condition.

I do not have the details about charging current at specific state of the charging cycle at hand, need to check out with the Engineer for the figures. Although I didn't come to the same conclusion that the battery controller does not work properly based on the figures your provided, I'll raise the issue to the Engineer and ask him to check with the factory units before I response further.

Sorry that we didn't get in pace after the Chinese New Year holiday until beginning of this week. Please pardon with us on this special period of time.

Right, but I tried to charge it overnight and still 99%. Special battery controller should stop charging to prevent overcharge, if it works properly.

I had a QLS-360 (charge/discharge like it should be), FIIO X5 2nd and no any issue with charging/discharging.

Today I discharged N6 to 0%, and start charging without using. So, now, after 5 hours and 17 mins my charger device upload a 5637mA. Controller should stop charging now, because an amperage dropdown to 0.1-0.15Ah, but it does not do it.

Look:
Ch. time - battery % - amperage - upload to battery
00:00 -  0% - 1.55A -    0mA
00:09 -  5% - 1.97A -  250mA
00:17 -  8% - 1.90A -  485mA
00:40 - 18% - 1.60A - 1173mA
01:08 - 31% - 1.56A - 1915mA
01:53 - 51% - 1.52A - 3059mA
02:33 - 68% - 1.44A - 4027mA
02:59 - 77% - 1.04A - 4559mA
03:25 - 84% - 0.72A - 4949mA
05:17 - 99% - 0.15A - 5637mA
05:38 - 99% - 0.13A - 5681mA
07:13 - 99% - 0.13A - 5890mA
08:01 - 99% - 0.13A - 5987mA

More than 8 hours and still have no 100%.

I have this situation with die at 8% (and at 10% second time) - twice. Every time I just listened a music in background, display was off, random mode. I use only FLAC files, most of all 16\44.1, sometimes 24\44.1. When I tried to power it on, it shows that battery is low and power off immediately. Then I can not power it on until charge.

Another user give me his charging log:

15:17 - 9% - 1,56A - begin charging (03:17 PM)
15:40 - 19% - 1,49A
16:00 - 25% - 1,45A
16:17 - 33% - 1,41A
17:17 - 53% - 1,35A
17:47 - 64% - 1,29A
18:19 - 74% - 1,22A
19:00 - 99% - 0,73A - 4900mAh
19:20 - 99% - 0,52A - 5128mAh
19:50 - 99% - 0,39A - 5310mAh
20:15 - 99% - 0,29A - 5467mAh
20:23 - 100% - 0,11A - 5503mAh

But mine charge on low amperage too long.
p.s. also I have an iPhone 5S and it discharge well for the first year, but then it can die at 8-15%. Then I went to the service and replace a battery. That is it.
