N6 does not work with some 4pin headphones. For ex: Sennheiser Momentum 2.0, 630VB.

Yes, that means you are using an OMTP headphone. :D

I see. But other DAPs works well with it. It is not problem for me. Just inform about this.

Is it possible to show album and atrist name like on fiio x5 for example? I use a "random mode" and sometimes I can not remember an album name for current song.

Another fix that I wish: Change a color of selected element in side menu. I have to look carefully to see what is selected.

other DAPs works well with it because
(1) They don't have plug-in detection in the headphone connector, this is an convenient feature to enable stop and resume function and also improved power management, allow the player to enter standby mode when you unplug your headphone and power off when idled after per-specified time; or

(2) They enabled plug-in detection by putting the detection circuit at either the LEFT or RIGHT channel instead of using one of the ROUND channel, this will introduce small amount of interference to audio performance

Will check out on the UI issue after I come back from CanJam, thanks for your suggestion. :beerchug:

a couple questions

1) I just bought an OPPO HA2 dac amp.
Is the 3.5 mm line out to 3.5 mm line in the desired route
is there a way to use the OPPO dac with a Cayin digital out?  I will use it with my ipod

2) I bought this when they first came out. How are the firmware updates?
Looking at the update page it shows a screen that is not nearly as nice as the turntable and old spinning wheel

3) I m having problems with artist album hierarchy, cover art import and format type
some folders are by album, some artist with imbedded albums

I load my micro chip on my pc and I see wav, high rez, flac, MVA files listed
but not MP3
but when I go to play the actual albums
there somehow are mp3 files imbedded in this

this is really disturbing

thanks for any help
you can pm me if you like

Thanks Andy!

Small report about battery issue. 3 last times I started charging my N6 from 50-60%. And yesterday I saw 100% status first time !!! I remember your words that 50-100% charging gives me about 1200-1300 cycles. But at the same time I need to charge my N6 twice time more (one 0-100 or twice 50-100), so really a count of cycles still be about 500-600. Right?

And about line out & headphone out. When connected both devices and N6 powered off and then I turn it on again, it plays to headphone instead lineout. It is a very big issue because N6 will power off after 10min idle. So as result: line out should have a higher priority.

Still extremely happy with N6 after almost a year, even though i rolled back to fw 3.1,more to my tastes.Cayin N6/Pico slim/ie800 my all time favourite sound, extreme clarity, great energy and sublime bass detail and articulation.N6 still holds it's own against more expensive players especially now that hype of ultra expensive daps is dying down and it comes mostly to different tone/taste at that level. One such review  http://zvukoed.com/questyle-qp1r-izobretaya-koleso/

Hi Andy. Looks like that my battery is unhealthy. Today I powered on my N6, it shows 40% of battery capaticy. Ok. I listen for 7-10 mins and I see a 9% on the screen. Then 4% and it powered off by self. I connect it to charger and it start charging at 4%. So what should I do? I`m in Russia, but I bought it in another country (

If you only bought your N6 within months, I suggest you contact the seller for warranty service, consult them for proper procedure in their end, and send the N6 to them for service, if they are legitimate reseller, they can send the N6 back to factory for battery replacement. Normally deal is for you to cover the mailing cost to and from your country to the reseller, and the reseller cover all the remaining cost if it is under warranty period. I have seen better deal occasional but you have to work it out with the reseller for that.

It is impossible to our country. I bought it in Ukraine, but now I lives in Russia. So it is a very difficult to do that ( Maybe I can send N6 directly to factory? Or you can send a new battery for me?

Summary:
1) When I charged my N6 from 0 to 99% - everything was ok, but I never seen 100%.
2) When I tried 3 times to charge from 50% to 100%. I seen a 100%, but 2 times my N6 powered off at 40-60% (very fast drop to 0-5% and powered off) after that.
3) Todat after issue with fast drain from 40% to 3% and powered off, I tried to charge it. My charging device uploaded about 5000mA, but N6 shows me only 40% capacity, but there is shoud be about 90%! Power amp was about 0.7Ah. - Photo: http://i.imgur.com/4ypdjCQ.jpg

Now I try to install 3.1 and charge to maximum capacity and then discharge to 0 and charge it again.

I am travelling in US right now, I can check with company when I get back, but I can't promise a solution because Cayin is a manufacturer and we do not have B2C practise and support system to oversea customers, we always rely on distributor and reseller to cover that in our history.

Ok, thanks!

I leave a N6 for charge for a night and now it shows 99%. Looks like it calibrate well. I will try to discharge it and charge again today.

Don't go into discharge and full charge cycle continuous, you are damaging the battery. Use if regularly for 5-10 cycle before you do this again.

There is a possibility that your N6 have been sit in the reseller warehouse for quite some time, so the battery is in less then perfect condition when you received it, and you have been pushing the 99%and 100% charge up repeatedly and this cause further damage to the battery (5 to 6 consecutive deep discharge/full charge cycle?). If you look at earlier remarks again, several members in this thread has advice you don't push the battery too hard, just use it for a few months first and let the battery settle in, you didn't take their advice at that time.id

Yes, we do deep discharge/full charge up as recalibration for Lithium battery, but we only do that once after 10-30 cycles. I didn't set this number up, google about Lithium battery usage and you'll find similar advice.

I strongly advice you use the N6 as usual, stick with short recharge cycle for a few months, maybe the battery will recover itself gradually. This is my final advice to you on Lithium battery practice, I really don't want to sound like a jerk and repeat myself on the same issue again and again.
