  What they said!

It's 恭喜发财... translated literally is "wish you get rich"... common greeting for auspicious/prosperity during Chinese New Year

Finally settle down after three busy days in Chinese New Year. In our tradition, we'll visit friends and relatives, greeting each other, and give away "Red packet" to the children/younger generation, this is their treat of the year and reunion time to families and friends.

And because we have to bring present and lots of red packets around, I put down the N6 and stick with the N5 all along, this is the time when a smaller form factor, longer battery life and dual TF cards shows it edge. My choice of IEM is Ocharaku 音茶楽 Flat4-Kaede (Maple) Type II (Balanced version). I guess this is not a popular IEM but I am fan of the Flat4 and will not hesitate to recommend this to headfi friends, unfortunately the Flat4 eats current, so a lot of DAP will not like it, the balanced output from N5 is one of the most effective solution for the balanced version of Flat4 Kaede II.

Great, finally the facelift version of N5 has make it to the light. We have a long discussion regarding the dust cover at the bottom of the N5, finally we take the advise of users and decided o remove the dust cover and come out with this facelift version. twister6 has taken very good photos to document the different, so take a closer look at the photos that show the bottom of N5 and you can see the difference clearly.

Since the two N5 sounds identical, twister6 can now used the TWO N5 to AB different headphone very effectively, I am sure we all are looking forwards to more impression and pairing suggestion after the new N5 has broken in, don't we?

The sides of the player itself, it's like a sandwich made out of two parts, and I have a feeling that they are shifting a bit.
I cannot add pictures to this thread, so I will link http://imgur.com/a/bzC0B
It also looks like theres a bit of air visible at the bottom of the player (the gap between the two parts) on the side with the scroll wheel.
I can't seem to get the shot with my DSLR to show it more clear.
Im afraid that because I have purchased it in Ukraine (I assume not an official dealer, yet an audio shop) if something goes wrong they won't be able to help me, and since I am out of my home, I am in panic that I may not even have a receipt to show proof of purchase (I do have the box that has the serial).

The N5 chassis is composed of two CNC modules, they might not be completed tight all the time, but once installed and secured by the screws at the bottom of the player, they are actually very rigid and secure, I wouldn't too worry base on the photos you provided.

You don't have to panic because you are traveling right now. If you run into any problem during your trip, drop me a note and the serial number of the box, I'll try to help out and make sure you received emergency service support if needed, so please enjoy your N5 without worrying about this problem. :beerchug:

That's really awesome! So it doesn't unplug as easily as before too? (I assume its because of the width). You mention that the old is pre-production, but did they sell them also? I seem to have the old one, I purchased it in November I think in a local audio shop.

I have explained the USB connection problem back in November, take a look if you aren't aware of that.

Twister6 got his N5 before we go into volume production, and we have improved the control wheel after he received his N5. The bottom dust cover remains unchanged and that time, and we finally decided to facelift the N5 as we received a lot of feedback regarding the inconvenient introduced by the dust cover, and we take the opportunity to further improve the USB3.0 connection spacing. Thought I can't claim that it will work with ANY micro2.0 cable in the market, but we believe it has a better tolerant then the original version with dust-cover.

I took off the plastic cover at the bottom, but I am a bit afraid that the SD cards might get lost. :frowning2:

The cards are secured, we normally worry about how to take the TF card out of the slot :D :D

That's all I can said, nothing more at this moment, but someone said a picture worth a thousand word, don't you agree? :p

Andykong, what dac is that? It looks fantastic, like some audio jewellery. I checked the Cayin site but can't find it. Cheers.

Very nice! If only I can spend as much time at home I'll be very much interested in the DAC. Maybe more reviews on this will break me
