Hi Andy

Recently my N5 cant start up whenever I press power button i can see the screen flickers but just refused to start up.
Than i inserted a power charging cable in and it can start up, but when i disconnect, the screen disappears.
Is this a dead battery problem and need to replace the battery. Tks.

Any chance the N5ii entered protective mode because of battery drain below safety threshold? If that is that case, keep the N5ii plug in for half and hour, the batter will slowly come back again.

If nothing happen after 30 minutes, then its likely the battery is not holding any charge or there is a component problem in the power management circuit. Sorry, you need to send the player back to your Cayin dealer for repair.

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to use my N5 as a transport with my Schiit Modi DAC.
This is the cable and the adaptor:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BIE98PO/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=A3RPN0HBLXDN8Z&psc=1
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KDY8R6C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have tried it in USB mode and in DAC mode and neither leads to playable music. It works fine with coax, but the usb connection would be more comfortable (at the bottom) and would free up the coax input to my DAC. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong or if this cannot be done, I would be grateful. Also, if anyone has a link to the manual that would be appreciated as well (I can't find that file on the cayin site).
best wishes & many thanks,
Jonathan

N5 does not support USB audio (and does not support OTG).

1) Coaxial out is the only way to use N5 as a digital transport.
2) It can be used as DAC via line out.
3) USB DAC for computers.
AFAIK that is all available options.

PS
USB mode / DAC mode is for connection to computers only.
USB mode is for charging and files transfer.
DAC mode is for USB DAC function.

Does anyone still have the latest firmware update file for this player? Got a NOS one from Ebay (my old one broke years ago) and i would like to install the most current version.
