Cayin N3Pro DAP: Dual AK4493 and MQA with Vacuum Tube

The bass might tighten up with some burn in??

I hope it would be.

Any one has both DTR1 and N3pro wondering how they both compared with regards the sound and technicalities, disregarding the tubes flavor.

I have DTR1 but unfortunately it was sent back to fix, I using Mojo+Poly right now. I prefer DTR1 compared to Mojo.

SQ wise, I preferred DTR1 since I still prefer Mojo more than N3P.

Functionality and ease of use N3P is better.

Thank you very much for your impressions! Its a bit what i feared. Seems N3P is a nice Player but SQ wize a sidegrade from my Pono at best.

My N3Pro just arrived today. Quite like the little glow for the tube. :)

Well the tube modes will sound different and he's only using the 3.5 out for SS which only outputs 250 mw @32 ohms. I would wager the 4.4 SS sounds a bit better.

I would personally use 3.5mm for Tube output in N3Pro  I hear consistently the 3.5mm Tube output of N3Pro to have wider more holographic soundstage and more expanded dynamics when comparing to its 4.4mm SS output while using the same pair of IEMs (like Odin) and playing the same track volume matched between single ended and balanced outputs.

Great tube pic, how's it sounding?

I'm going to get more time with it before forming my impression. So far, sounding pretty good and I quite like the tube goodness.

Wow that's pretty awesome. I just assumed the 4.4 SS would sound better than the 3.5 SS. Speaking strictly of SS.

I would be surprised if your assumption is wrong, but I doubt anyone is buying this DAP for solid state mode

Good point :) I better break out my unbalanced cables. Same as n8 - people love the tube mode.
I prefer the sound from the N8s 3.5 SS than its 4.4. The 3.5 tube sounds great depending on the recording and music style.

How does that adapter feel in your pocket? I invested into 4.4 and need to adapt as well

It's fine I guess, a little bit too large to the side on my pocket due to the L shaped design. Although, I'm not sure if it's just mine, this adapter fits tightly and tends to scratch my jack a bit.

I usually liked DD product, but for this, I think there's probably a better adapter out there.
