I have my Cayin i5 coming later this week to replace the iBasso DX50. Looking forward to it.

Can anyone recommend a non-Leather case? Any casing of some sort would do.

Dignis may make one someday as they did for the n5

you can probably contact them and ask to make one for the I5

There's another case from Easecase which sells for $50.  You can choose the kind of leather pattern, and put some words or symbols on it.

By the way, any news about an update?  Hey @Andykong, is the update still on schedule?  You mentioned before that it will probably release before Chinese new year.  Please let us know if it will come.  Thank you.

I have owned the i5 since before Christmas and have found, as others have, that the synergy with the Meze 99's is sublime.

It needs a few firmware tweaks but overall the sound quality and user experience is superb.

One thing I have struggled with is to find though an IEM that I can really get on with.

Anyone got any recommendations for something that has a similar sound signature to the Meze. Have tried a number of pairs but not been totally satisfied with any of them.

Thanks.

I am still on the look out for a pair of IEMs that will give me Meze sound signature that I am looking for.

I've tried the following so far:

Fidue A73
RHA T20i
Trinity Master 4
Westone W30
Tennmak Pro (you never know)
1More Triple Driver

None really give me the sound signature I am looking for. Rich bass, smooth mids with enough detail in the treble to keep me interested.

I am mainly using a pair of Sony MDR-EX650AP which to my ears, on balance, are better than the above. Looking for more of the same with a wider soundstage and instrument separation.

Any views?

Dude, why not just get the Meze 12 Classic? Boom, done. It's like a mini Meze 99 Classic.

It might be worth looking into the LZ-A4. I haven't heard them, but they seem to be getting very positive reviews (great sound for the price, tunable with various filters/nozzles):
