Guitars and vocals....

2 of the longer fundamental to harmonic ranges on the chart are absolutely outstanding on these. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac and now AC/DC are just excellent.

Someone tried with smartphone?

I've run mine (term used loosely as they are a loaner) off Iphone 7 and HTC M9 it does well off of either of them. Does seem to like a bit more power as it opens up a bit more when amped but very listenable directly off cell phone or Cayin N3 which at low gain is usually in line with cell phones for output power.

Sounds excellent out of iPhone X. Even better and scales very, very well when used with high end dac/amp.

I am curious - you guys used iPhones with no 3.5mm jack (iPhone X and iPhone 7)... what was in your audio chain? iPhone -> ??? -> Cascade

I got sent a MMCX version of the SXC8 to 4.4mm cable.

(The proper circular push pull Cascade upgrade version is in the post on the way). See connector below.

But I thought you might like to see the gorgeous 4.4mm plug and take a look at the upgrade cable itself.

NOTE: Ignore the MMCX connectors, please.

I'm at about 50 hours or so now. I can hear the midbass tightening up, and things are definitely opening up, everything is becoming that much cleaner.

If it keeps heading this way, I'll be hard pressed to find a closed headphone i like more.

Then again, even at this point, theres really only one closed headphone I've heard that I like as much.

Somewhere around the 60hr mark as of this morning - listened to some Escala before work ("Palladio" and "Kashmir") and the low cello notes were stunningly deep and powerful.

Going to get a little more time in on them tonight then put them back on the burner for the weekend. Don't know if it's the drivers or my brain adjusting, but the sound is definitely getting more immersive with each listen.

I'm finding the same thing. OOTB I was like "Uhhhh...". Now it's like "Oh my!".
