Hi Mike,
I see that you are using the HOT. I ordered one and like the effect it produces BUT I do fine the designed flawed. IMO having the TRS connector at the input side with its weight plus then the weight of the cable there is too much strain in the connector and in the amps female connector. Also, I cannot use it in my WA5-LE because it has the female connector recessed so it cannot be engaged fully.

I email ed Steve from The Cable Co. to return it and let him know that IMO Synergistic Research should can he the design and probably use an OCC Copper wire pigtail coming out of the HOT with a TRS plug at the end. I know they are trying to have as direct signal as possible but I don't think that is a good design.

I agree!

I've been s/w Ted at Synergistic about all that! Especially the length and weight of it. I also enjoy the effect greatly, and more-so on tube amps for some reason!!

They're going to make some other HOT stuff, and if you don't mind - I'd like to pass on your feedback to him. That OK?
I appreciate it, as you were totally pro about it, and not filled w/ venom.

No problem passing my feedback to them Mike. As I said I like it but IO they need to rework the design.I ma going to return it to The Cable Company but if they change the design to solve those two issues I will buy it again.

right on!
That's important to pass-along to them too!

Thanks.

I've just known Ted Denney from SR for close to 20 years, and since I infected him with the headphone bug - I'd like to see his entry into the personal audio community to be on solid-footing ya know??

I think the HOT is a great product sound wise and a good first effort. they just need to address the physical design to make it more user friendly and avoid potential issues due to the weight and force at the HOT/Amp connection.

Oh yeah--I need to post here that I won the big discount from Vinnie Rossi for one of his amazing new LIO systems, and we've transacted.  A huge shout-out to Vinnie for his generosity and friendliness, and to the CanJam organizers for putting together the SHaG contest.  I'm definitely playing again next year if I get to attend.

Also got my Senn Urbanites the other day. Posted elsewhere, but would make sense to mention it here as well! Thanks to Jude, Joe, Warren and all my fellow Head-Fiers that made the RMAF CanJam awesome and the generous vendors that make the SHaG possible. Cheers all and Happy Thanksgiving next week to those of us here in the States

I received my Alpha Dogs very promptly. Thanks, Dan, for the fast shipping, the generous prize for the shag, and for great sounding headphones.

Edit: fitting that this was my thousandth post!
