I am interested in Solaris nowadays. Is there a big difference between gold version and 2020 sound wise? If I find gold one with reasonable price, is it worth to buy or should I go with the 2020 version?

You can get the OG for like $600 used and at that price it’s arguably the best deal in portable audio right now.

Personally I'd go with the 2020, forget the comfort which is miles ahead, imo 2020 sounded more natural and the design was better (I assume it is less likely to flake without the gold too).I am interested in Solaris nowadays. Owned both, not at the same time tho, solarises were always some of my favorite iems (had og, SE, and 2020).
I think out of the 3 the SE were my favorite (mainly because of the abalone, but the sound was the best of the 3, with 2020 very close behind), however, I couldn't walk with them as they were fairly huge and just screamed for attention, 2020 were a delight to take walks with or take the bus/train.
If I could only pick one I'd pick either 2020 or SE, but most likely the 2020.

I found there to be a big difference when it came to upper-mids and lower treble. The original has a bit of vocal recession; the 2020 is much more forward, to the point of being too bright for me. But then I'm sensitive to an emphasis in this region, so it'll boil down to personal preferences.I am interested in Solaris nowadays. Get both used and keep the one you like?!

Depends on how you feel about high frequencies and the fit.I am interested in Solaris nowadays. Is there a big difference between gold version and 2020 sound wise? If I find gold one with reasonable price, is it worth to buy or should I go with the 2020 version?
2020 are noticeably smaller and more comfortable. But the sound of OG is better.
2020 are more complete, comfortable and dark. In general, if you choose OG, then by selecting the cable and tips, you can achieve a sound close to 2020. But if you take 2020, then adjust them in such a way that OG will not work.
In addition, there is a difference in price. As already mentioned, OG can be bought for $600. 2020 is more expensive and worse in sound, but better fit.
Thanks, sound is my priority so I want to try my luck with gold one. I hope I won't have any fit issue. I've already bought one pair within Canada. I'll try when I receive it.

I've received the solaris gold. I've tried couple of tips like spinfit, double flange but it seems sony hybrid tips provide best comfort and seal for me. So far, I have no fit issue and I really liked what I am hearing so far
