My THX AAA 789 and my Drop Carbon X are dead silent with my Andromeda . Impressive.

And unfortunately I did not like the solaris 2020. I was expecting something like the OG I demo'ed and very much liked but nop...
I sent them back to the vendor and continue to rock my Andromeda.
What was it about the Solaris 2020 you didn't like vs the OG and Andromeda? And which version of Andromeda is that?

I believe that the lighting is more important than the gear :p

It depends on whether you shoot from hand or not

If you'll ever need some photos of your products - you know where to find me :sunglasses:

We're good but thanks :)

OK, let's end our off-top here :D

A member at SBAF just posted a 4-way between all the different Solari.

In other news I just got my SE back and it sounds incredible through the Shanling M8...possibly my favorite pair-up so far, besting even the S1.

Well I’m gonna need to read this, thanks for the heads up.

The guy who wrote it is pretty picky, especially about treble response.

In other news I'm not sure if it's just that I haven't heard it in a month, or if it's due to the magic of the M8 but the SE is really wowing me right now. The M8 has a pitch black background and Solaris really benefits from that. It's holding it's own against the Elysium rather well.

Yeah some of the things he said when comparing the OG and SE I needed to have a second take to get my head around. He says the OG was the smoothest of the two which i hadn’t heard personally. I thought the SE was smoother in general. I agree with him on mostly everything else though, especially coming back to my “sure-footed” comment on the sound of the SE when I first got it over the OG. He mentioned that as the OG sound being “transparent” like he could put his hand through it but I think we were describing the same thing. In regards to the treble, I can kind of see where he is coming from... I think the OG was just tuned more aggressively in the treble to my ears whereas the SE went smoother. I wouldn’t say I had heard any less detail though... but this just may be down to presentation changes. The midrange was light years ahead of the OG though in my mind. Just a more complete and full sounding midrange with none of the hollowness I heard in the OG. He also mentions the bump in resolution that I mentioned too ... think I said it sounded like a Solaris HD (exaggerating a bit but there is a bump there). Interesting read either way.
