This is not a hill I'm willing to die on or anything but this is my opinion too.
I'm convinced burn-in is not a technical thing and changes heard are your brain adapting to different headphones or other factors such as seal, tip degradation (especially w/ foam)
I do think burn in to some degree with DD based IEM’s is true. Just like a motor, moving parts all have a degree of mechanical break in or “burn in” as it’s coined by the headphone enthusiast community.

I'm glad to hear you say that as I see you listen out of the DX220 w/ Amp8 as do I (Amp8EX). Usually. Though I haven't yet, as I haven't changed the included smoky litz single ended cable yet. So I've been listening from the Pioneer xdp 300r, and from my computer->Grace Design m920-> Monolith THX 887.
Actually I should have edited my Signature I am actually using a Fiio M15 now. But I do still have my DX220 (currently listed in the FS forums) and have done some comparisons and the sound between it and the M15 is so similar with the DX220 w/ Amp8 having maybe just a tiny bit more resolution and detail and also a bit more weight and impact to the bass. I do have a Monolith THX 887 as well and have been wanting to try the 3.5 output from it using my M15 as the source but haven't gotten around to it yet.

They are great cables. I have a Clone Silver on order with the titanium barrels. I will post pictures when I get it.
Would love your impressions of the 2020 with the Clone Silver once you get it.

@Lookout57 your thoughts about the 2020 with the Clone Silver, if you don't mind?

I will definitely post some impressions when I get it. I am curious to see if I hear a big difference between the copper and silver.

Hey! This is a little disappointing ALO / Campfire Audio. And most definitely a 1st world problem. I was listening while watching an ambient musical video on youtube and noticed the left-right placement seemed backwards. So I did a left-right audio track test and discovered it was backwards. Did I have the earphones in the wrong ear? No, they won't fit in reversed. Was the cable plugged in backwards? No, red dot on right. I got out my multi-meter and discovered the smoky litz cable is mis-marked -- red dot on left mmcx connector.

Hey ALO, just send me a smoky super litz with a 4.4 mm balanced connector to make up for it. :)

I've listened to the 2020 Solaris for maybe an hour and a half. I think these sound fantastic out of the box. I hope they don't change!!

Next up - iems with drivers that have a finite lifespan so you have to think very carefully about how to use your listening time. That's got its own marketing angle, for sure.

Burn in is a discussion without an ending :)

How long do you have to burn in a discussion about burn in? I reckon after 200 posts, the quality of opinion would change a lot.

Do you just put them in the microwave to burn them in or does it need to be an open flame?

I'll try to give some quick impressions tonight as they will have 20+ hours of burn-in.
