Yes sort of. The sound felt like it was coming from the 45 degree of on the back of my head. I also heard the echo and decay of the background sound on one track that surprised me.
Andromeda is on my purchase list now. I'll probably sell all of my IEMs
I agree.
The main reason of I bought the Andros was they sound like the full-size headphone.
.
I never thought even the high-end IEMs would beat the full-size headphones by sound stage until I listened the Andros. People always use the
terms of details, transparence,...to describe the IEMs but rarely use
large sound-stage, good separation on them.I had a pair of Shure 530 for several years, mainly used for hiking or running and I used Denon D7100 in the office not for critcal listening. Last October I broke the 530 on the mountain, so I got a used pair of IT03 which I thought were with much better base and details than 530s. Before Xmas, I had a chance to listen the Andros, I was shocked. The sound stage, the separation and especially the full body of music with great details all like coming from a pair of decent full-size phones. The IT03s are nice IEMs, good bass, great details and clear transparence , but the body of sound is thin. I compared Andros with D7100s on X5II, I heard a lots of details I never get from D7100. So I sold the D7100 , IT03 ,X5II immediately and purchased the tiny full-size IEMs. Then I don't have to wear the huge D7100 with the silly feeling in office now.
I also used my Fiio X7 3.5mm SE with Andros compared with my desktop rig: Audio-GD reference 1 DAC----Little dot MKVI+----Hifiman HE5 all balanced ( Kind of ancient setup
). Andro's sound stage was a little smaller but the separation was better with more micro details. The HE5 was more forward with less bass but tighter . IMO, they are at least at the same level for now. But the combination of RE1 and MK6+ was much better source than X7. I don't want to challenge the very sensitive Andromedas with the powerful MK6+, so the comparation is not very fare. My 8 wire Therium balance cable will be here in couple days, I hope the balanced silver cables will tighten the bass a little and bring more details out.
So my next headache is how to upgrade my antique desktops?
Sorry for my shameful English writing. Too much expression I can't explain clearly.
