And anyone wanting comparisons, please shoot, and I will answer to the best of my ability!

Probably not relevant as it isn't strictly playing in the same bracket, but comparisons to the Westone UM Pro 50 would be really interesting for me. Would love to know how something people seem to think is so beautifully tuned differs from a similar 5 BA setup?

I'm not a fan of the um50, but from my memory, UM50 is darker and richer, not as transparent or detailed, and has a more intimate soundstage!

Thanks - that's really helpful (and very quick!). Just picked up a set of UMPro50 on eBay but only had a quick listen so far so was wondering how they would compare. Have a set of the Massdrop Novas coming so if they tick enough boxes I might end up putting them and the Pro50 up on the FS boards and jumping on the Andromeda - with each stellar review it is getting more and more tempting...

Yup, but sometimes once they are there. you can't unhear them.
eventually no matter how good an iem is we tend to find a short coming so we can buy another and another.

For those who inquired above, my CFA Andromeda in-depth review on TheHeadphoneList (HERE) covers pair up with LPG, L5Pro, Opus#1, AK120ii, DX80, X7 w/AM2, N5, X5ii, Micro iDSD, including the hissing level, and also comparison to U12, K10UA, UM Maestro, W60, Savant, ES60, SD-4.  Regarding U6 and UM Pro 50 direct comparison, might take a little while before I get to it (in the middle of a dozen of new reviews), but you can indirectly get this info by reading my U6 and W60 reviews on Head-fi (HERE) where I compare corresponding models.

I've been listening a bit through my iPhone to the Andromedas. Personally, I find the best tonal balance comes with sources, such as the iPhone and Soundaware M1, that cause a slight reduction in mid-bass, though listening to Trombone Shorty just now I can't say I at all mind the bass kick. I could clearly make out the difference in clarity between my iPhone 6+ and a Mojo with them. While I did get a bit of electrical noise when the music wasn't playing, I didn't get any hiss from my iPhone.
