Yeah. The only thing putting me off is a few people here, such as Color, who reckon it needs a 2ohm output. Which is odd.

Just in case somebody else is wondering about Anromeda's versions I've tried to make a simple picture example from info I've found on the internet, hope it helps :)

wow nice Andromeda history!, I have been away from this tread for a while.

I understand. Sometimes when you go down a road, there is no going back. I suspect it's like that when you get into daps.

I'm telling you there is no negatives such as hiss or poor sound quality at all. If that is what you have, get them and enjoy them. You absolutely won't regret it.

They sound so good I couldn't even listen to my ie800's anymore and sold them last week because of it. Would they sound better with the Sony dap everyone raves about? Probably, but so does every other iem I suspect.

Hello, does anyone know the impendace of Ref 8 cable?
And structure of conductors? The description says : Four high purity silver-plated copper (SXC) conductors combined with four OCC copper conductors. Are they litz or not?

Something like :
Tinstel has 1.5 ohm impedance and silver plated copper non litz.
Alo litz has 0.8 ohm impedance and silver plated litz wire.
(^This is my measurements)

It's a rabbit hole. I bought and sold a Dragonfly, then a Mojo (which was actually ace) and eventually sold it after the Ether and LCD2. There's always a tiny improvement somewhere. Tips chasing on the Angies, the DACs (I thought the Dragonfly was snake oil and a bit of treble boost, but the Chord did something nice to the sound, even if it was too cumbersome to be practical outside and was a necessity for the big phones). The over ears just weren't comfortable. I'm trying to avoid getting caught up with all those micro improvements again. Maybe a wireless BTR3 for convenience.

I agree with Colors, same observation with the lighting dongle using Andromeda only and only. With regards to ZX2, it’s too warm for my tastes though I agree with them on the lighting dongle too. iPod Touch 6th gen at 1.7 is the sweet spot for me. Mojo is way too bassy sounding and hissy with Andromeda too

Check out the es100 for convenience. Zero hiss with my Andros.

My b-stock andromeda bought last Nov actually came with one V2 and one V1.5 (What). They look very different without ear tips but when I put on some spiral dots then the length is practically the same, regardless of nozzle design.

Still though, a bit of *shrug* for getting two different nozzles due to b stock.

Anyone pair up their Andromeda with Effect Audio Janus D? Any impressions on that?
Will let you know if I tried that pairing.
Personally, I like my Andromeda with a copper cable like Satin Aurora or PW Audio No.5.

Same.

Andromeda with a quality all copper cable (don’t cheap out) boosts the mid-bass and lower mids (deep male vocals) nicely.

Definitely. The boost in the low frequency helps to create a fuller sound and it complements the stock Andromeda sound.

I’ve been using a Shure cable with my Andromedas; the stock cable was too short for me so I’ve been using a SE846 cable (EAC64CLS) which costs about $25 and is well made (assuming you like the fit).

IMHO, it toned down the treble slightly, making the sound more balanced for my tastes.

BTW, I tried the Andromeda’s cable on my SE846 and it brought out more treble (which they tend to need). Too bad the cable is too short for me though.

Hello!

Apologies if this is breaking any rules but I am looking to pick up a B-Stock Andromeda for no more than 650. I figured it would not hurt to ask here.

If any of you are thinking of letting yours go, or know someone who is, feel free to reach out.

Thanks for helping out!
