Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova

  heard it on se
i dont have the balanced cable yet.

Me using the Campfire twins with the 1A lately.

Vega sounds excellent on SE and absolutely phenomenal on balanced.

Andro sounds absolutely phenomenal on SE and exquisite (a tiny bit less phenomenal) on balanced.

Not really comparable as both are top notch with a different taste - Meaty juicy and transparent Vega, Ultra-transparent uber-detailed and airy Andro. But that's how I manage it - Vega with balanced cable while keeping the Andros on the stock Litz. What else can I ask for..........

My two cents.

Can you please explain why the Andro sounds less good on balanced compared to se?

You probably can ask for Reference 8 cable on Andro. It will become a difference beast with improved power on every aspect.

Just curious: have you tried / did it get the same effect on other (c)iems as well?

Have not tried on other IEM yet, only Andro.

Alo dun hav 4.4mm yet :(

Eventually should have. Now most cable makers already perparing for it.

There's still Kimble Kable for last resort.

Do you find the andro stablely afixed onto your ears?
Mine kept coming lose during audition

The tip is shallow. You can switch to spinfit provided also, not so easily fall out.

i wonder if the iems would still remaini n the ears if i were to ditch the memory cables and let the cables drop instead of hooking them on my ears

are you still using the memory cable?

I am still using the memory cable. But there are those that removed the wire, no complains from them so I guess its alright.

No matter you remove the wire or not, the IEM is designed for the cable to go behind your ears.

I removed the memory wire and heatshrink tubing from my Vega cable. The fit is even more secure without the wire, as it always took some fiddling to prevent the wire from affecting the security of my fit. Removal is not something to take casually, as a very slight error can result in a damaged cable.

That's exactly why I can't try that. I HAVE the Ref 8 but only on 2.5mm. I love it but dun think it's a matter of improved power..........AND IMO the Andros dun like to be overpowered anyway.

And what cable are you using?

I am a uber detail freak (most of the time).

BUT when overpowered (playing out of the 380cu+amp balanced and the wm1A balanced) the Andros seem to (these are general observations common to both setups)
(1) carry too much brat in the lower trebles
(2) the wonderfully balanced bass become somewhat less balanced, with more mid-bass flooding out
(3) the mids on the contrary become a bit too focused and more energized being overtaken by the lower trebles, the beautiful airiness in the hi-mids lessens

Cables used (only balanced listed - almost exclusively used stock Litz for SE output):
Ref 8 (for 380 combo)
Venturecraft-Furutech PCOCC-A (for 380 combo)
Plussound Tri-metal X6 (for 380 combo)
Sony-Kimber cable (for WM1A)
Labkable Samurai iii (for WM1A)
