I'm more than happy with node2i.
Don't know how I managed without it.
I did try the firestick 4k as it does do 24bit 192khz, but would only recognise my amp as 16 bit. It's also not gapless, slow, clunky.
Node 2i is amazing, even listening at night with Sony WH1000 3 in Bluetooth APTX HD

If you had a solid WiFi connection, would there be a difference?
I have WiFi 6 Mesh system and its rock solid. Never heard the slightest glitch after 10 hours of listening.

Wired connection is just too difficult for me.

So Impressed with this unit, I have decided to upgrade my Q Acoustic 5.1 set up to a dedicated pair of Q Acoustic 3050, so I can run the Amp in Pure Direct Mode.

I've tested my Node 2i wired* and wireless and I didn't notice any changes in sound quality but the wireless dropped out occasionally, so wired is more/100% reliable, and it responds to volume changes more quickly.

* the 'wired' version in this case was just plugging the Node into a TP-Link Deco disc (mesh setup). The Deco discs are ace. All my Bluesound equipment (one Node 2i and two Flex 2is) plugs directly into a disc.

I also do the same but use Linksys Vekop nodes. All my equipment plugs directly into those. Minimizes the number of wifi devices on the network. My TV, receiver, and Node 2i are all connected to a Ethernet switch which is connected to a Velop node.

Does anyone else have the new node? Is the USB out not yet active? I couldn't get it to work on mine.

Today I found the setting to turn off the digital audio correction. 🤦‍♂️ Lo and behold, the sound from my external DAC improved immediately, sounding clearer and less processed. Better to let the R-2R DAC handle all the timing. Okay, now I can live with the Node 2i without wondering if the competition offers a better coaxial out. This is great news as I quite like BluOS.
