I just got a cheap P1 tube amp and it paired up really well with BL01. Fit is fine using AZLA Xelastec tips.

Wondering about the 01 and 03, is there a mod to permanently add length to the nozzles? I can't use the flip tips mod as I want to use all the generic comply tips I've bought for those two 😅 maybe melting or molding a plastic material and wrap it around the nozzles will do the trick? 😅

You can try a spacer mod. Pics included, credit to these folks:

@RyuzakiL26, you might consider this as an option to increase the nozzle length on the Blons: https://www.amazon.com/Hearing-Aid-...s&qid=1610215913&s=hpc&sr=1-4&ts_id=862635901

This is what I have used for my Blon (01, 03, 05 and 05s) IEMs. I have used the medium/large mushroom tips with slender stems; although the bottom opening appears too small, the material is very pliable and the tip will fit very easily (and snugly) onto the Blon stem. I found the dome top to be too pliable to give me a good seal, so I cut this end off and the took an inverted Starline tip and attached it to the remaining silicon stem with a small dab or two of super glue. Make sure that you do the super glue step off the Blon and make sure glue is completely dried before you attach your completed tip to the Blon, because just a very small amount of super glue will block up the Blon stem filter. These modified tips have given me an excellent seal and have been quite durable. I have gotten excellent sound out of the Blons with these. Another potentially easier way to use the mushroom tips is to take another standard silicon IEM tip and slide it up the mushroom stem to "fortify" the dome of the mushroom tip; ideally, you will want to use a tip that fits pretty snugly to the mushroom stem. Once you attach the modified mushroom tip to the Blon, the standard ear phone tip you added onto the stem will stay in place. This method has also worked well for me. Good luck. DSC00915.JPG

@jdog Any pictures of them in your ear for my collection?..just kidding about the second part... Seems like they would stick so far out the weight of the thing would have it wobbling around. My inverted starline tips with a spacer already do that a bit and its closer in than the ones pictured.

One thing that’s perplexed me is how the BL05 can sound so different to the BL03, when they have nearly identical tuning. The only exception being a difference below 400hz and a small difference right at 2.5k.

I know graphs can’t communicate technical details, like soundstage, tonality, separation, speed, etc. But from the frequency graph, they should sound basically the same except for a little more bass. And that’s not how I hear them.

I would actually really like the BL05 if it was tuned as I read it on the graph. But I hardly ever use it anymore because it just doesn’t click with me. Maybe I need to do some more tip rolling on it?

Have you tried the BL05s?

well the graphs are not identical, bl05 is less bass, more upper mids, also using different drivers even if the tuning was exactly the same

@Dr Rez, the mushroom tips work well for me and both methods provide a secure fit. The "fortified dome" option is a bit shorter, so it fits closer to the ear. The inverted Starline option is a little longer, so it does not fit as closely, but the inverted tip gives a little better seal. Neither option falls out of my ears; this is true with vigorous head shaking, walking or jogging. I'm sure the fit for others will depend on the seal they can achieve, but both are equally comfortable and reliable for me. For me, the seal with any of the Blons is very important, because a good seal markedly improves the sound for me. Here are a few of my ear pictures for your collection. I hope these help.
