Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

Sorry to double post but I noticed when I took the dampening pads off, the driver baffle started to open, I freaked out never saw that happen before, is that common with Beyerdynamics or are they supposed to be glued?
That's normal, they aren't glued, sometimes they may need some tapping to get out, but having opened up numerous Beyers that's how they are.

I've never experimented with taking the dampening pads off, but if your headphones sound fine as is I wouldn't worry about it

I love my Sansui AU-101, but these vintage receivers are always a bit of a gamble. The previous owners claims to have serviced it (it sounds perfectly fine, great even), but I'm hearing white noise in the background (not noticeable when music is playing and at a lower volume), and even some crackling noises here and there. I'm not sure where the issue is coming from - a mixture of a faulty / old power supply (I did notice that when I plugged my wireless charger into the same power board, the crackling noises really started to pick up, so I plugged my amplifier directly into the wall), a faulty headphone output, just age catching up to the amplifier or my ODAC is messing up the signal somehow (or all four combined!).

My NAD M51s will be coming sometime next week so if it's a DAC issue this should remedy it, but if my problems still remain, I guess I'm back in the market for a headphone amplifier (I will give this beautiful amplifier to my parents though, they have a turntable setup and this should work wonders for them).

There are used Auralic Taurus MKIIs on the market, but none in Australia so import fees + conversion + shipping will add up (unless I wait for a listing to pop up on stereonet)

A Schiit Ragnarok 2 listing on stereonet is going for $1900. It's a hefty price until you consider Ragnarok 2 for new (AUD) are going for upwards of $2600, and the amount of power it has and it being such a highly regarded amplifier for both speakers & headphones have me heavily considering it as an end-game headphone amplifier.

EDIT: I have bad news. I disconnected by DAC from the chain and just turned on my amplifier (only connected to power) with my headphones plugged into them, and the crackling & white noise is still present. I'm obviously still keeping my NAD M51 for when they do come in the mail next week, but I'm back on the market for an amplifier. I want these amazing cans with the power delivery they deserve, and not an amplifier (that undeniably sounds great, but one) with problems that I could live without. I'm keeping this AU-101 as a Christmas gift for my parents, but I'm back in the market for an amplifier :(

Do you know if T1.3 or T5.3 have a similar sound signature than Beyerdynamic Xelento iem ?

To my ears Xelento has much more spark in the mid/high frequencies, and I prefer their tuning to the 1.3

Thank you, xelento sound is exquisite, I would have hope that T1.3 had a sort of the same sound.

Well, you may want to hear other opinions but to me the 1.3 has an overall darker signature

Listening to noise rock on these cans is a special experience. The heightened bass response makes the low-end riffs that much more crushing, and the relaxed treble on these make the noise less fatiguing. I implore anyone who has these cans to try this album sometime

Is it a live recording or is it indented to sound like a bootlegged recording? Might just be my western European ears but it sounds distant and zero bass.

Between the T1.3, Amiron, Hekv2 and Nighthawk and the specialist HD800, I think I'm done.. unless they come out with a can tuned exactly like the Amiron with 1.2 Tesla drivers lol

Live recording, and one of the more bass heavy recordings, at least from my from my favourite recordings ever

I think the upload on YouTube doesn't do it justice. I have a FLAC copy and it sounds fine to me (her vocals blend more into the background unlike more Western recordings, but that's part of the charm of this album)

My balanced cables, but after spending some more time with this incredible amplifier, this improves the T1.3's detail retrieval, staging and instrumental separation *even* further (the NAD M51 DAC is definitely playing a part here). There's an added air to the overall sound too, making lively and busy recordings sound less in my head and the experience more enjoyable as a whole. Yet, this headphone's intimacy isn't sacrificed at all when the recording calls for it. I love this amplifier & I love this headphone :)

Curious to see how making my chain balanced will affect the sound. I've heard the difference on the Ragnarok 2 is night and day from someone who runs it on balanced, but at the very least it will reduce any unwanted noise in my system.

I have finally ordered T1.3 : but looking again at some reviews on youtube, I’m quite scared that the sound will be too off for me, at least I hope T1.3 won’t be as bloated and muffled like Klipsch HP-3 and Meze 99.

Coming from my best headphone (Hifiman HE6se) I don’t expect the same balanced sound, I just hope T1.3 will provide pleasure and excitement when listening music, if yes I will forgive its weird FR.
