Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

at least I hope T1.3 won’t be as bloated and muffled like Klipsch HP-3 and Meze 99.
If you will find the sound bloated and muffled, you can try swapping pads and try the Analyticals ordering them from BeyerDynamic website.

Do T1.3 mids suffer by too much blend of bass ?
Also are they engaging headphone? I remember Amiron Home a bit too laid back and lacked some excitement.

I have finally ordered T1.3 : but looking again at some reviews on youtube, I’m quite scared that the sound will be too off for me, at least I hope T1.3 won’t be as bloated and muffled like Klipsch HP-3 and Meze 99.

Coming from my best headphone (Hifiman HE6se) I don’t expect the same balanced sound, I just hope T1.3 will provide pleasure and excitement when listening music, if yes I will forgive its weird FR.
The least thing that comes to my mind, in regard to Beyerdynamics, is "bloated and muffled". ^^
But it depends from what you're coming from, I guess. :)

I watched some of those negative reviews and as usual with alot of them I'm left scratching my head, so I've learned, as I'm sure you have to, not to put alot of faith in others preferences. They are a fun can, they are a fun can with great technicalities, if I want to dissect my music I'll listen to my HD800 or Hekv2 if I want 99% detail with a can that sounds beautiful with just about everything I listen to my T1.3.

Alot of the negative reviews I think are in contrast to other Beyerdynamics specifically the previous t1. I haven't heard it so never came at the .3 with that perspective, I did have the Amiron and still do, so it was love at first listen for the T1. If you give the T1 alot of time and play with ear placement you might really like it. The good thing is if you don't, they will probably sell fast. It's a very transparent headphone with a deep soundstage, they are my favorite headphones now :)

Thank you for your positive answer, I’ll give T1 all its chances, will forget the reviews I read and listen to it with a fresh mind without trying to A/B them with other headphones and just enjoy music (I hope) :)

I am a bit out of the choir here…selling my T1.3 because I keep having issues with their mids, which to me are too recessed. Coming from Beyer DT1990 and Focal Clear, the T1.3 sound a bit muffled to my ears…

Give them some time. Definitely. They are engaging. Listening them for a month already and other HP sounds weak and thin. This have this overwhelming signature to it sound. At least for my ears :)

That is why i recommend DT1990 Analytic pads on T1.3 few pages back. I came from DT990.
As for the analytical pads, I didn't give them much time at all - maybe some other time, but I missed the memory foam from the original T1 pads, my headphones feel more secure on my head with them, and they feel nicer to me personally.
Oh, unfortunate to hear that as i feel like i convince you to spend your money! Did you give them a bit more time? Sounds like we came seeking for a bit different sound signature. Like i mentioned i was expecting more 'clear' sound at the beginning and 1990 pads were like blessing. Nonetheless, lately i started to listening more modern music and i swap pads back to OEM for last week. I have to say i really enjoy this experience. I will change them back soon and try to make my mind on this topic.

About HP itself, i become a true fan of low impedance gear. Finally i can walk around home or change rooms wearing my fav cans(at the moment) and don't interupt my partner with leaking sound, especially while she sleeps.

Sorry to double post but I noticed when I took the dampening pads off, the driver baffle started to open, I freaked out never saw that happen before, is that common with Beyerdynamics or are they supposed to be glued?
Sorry for double post as well, lol
I just ordered T5p.2 rubber ring (916676 EAN:4010118916670) to see if it will work on T1.3
I checked that this do not have dampening pads and construction is somehow similar.
Of course you can fix this easly but nothing like OEM parts. It is on backorder for now but i will report if it worked asap :)

To my ears, using analytical pads 1990 sounds better than T1.3, for half the price

No no, it was a conscious decision I made on my end haha, but the Ragnarok 2 pairs well with this. Any particular sound difference that I would've gotten with the analytical pads seem to have come through with the Rag without leaving the comfort of this memory foam Beyer has made for their OEM.

How is sound leakage of T1.3 ?
I wonder if I could use it in my office at low/moderate volume.

It is a very open design. Leaks about the same as HD800 as I can see in your signature you already know

Shows how different our experiences can be, my wife says these T1.3 isolate the best out of all my headphones Hek V2 Hd800 Nighthawks Amiron Home

And you are most likely right. I just wanted to say that this is not a closed headphone like T5. So, in the open headphone realm it might be true that T1.3 isolates more than the average open headphone. I might have been too quick to answer there.
