This is in line with my observations also. For those who say the bass is bloated, I always wonder what their reference standard is in the way of speakers (not headphones).
My home theater uses professional studio mastering subwoofers, the room has bass management, and I find the bass in this system to be similar to that from the Pro 80s (the latter being a little less controlled and with more bloom, but in no way deserving of the hyperbole often heaped upon them).

One man's "bloated bass" is another man's "subwoofer in the room."

I've found that the mids are recessed.  I noticed this especially after listening to my other headphones.  Never tried eq'ing.  Amps don't really do much to bring the mids forward.

They are still a fun headphone - great for gaming and certain types of music.

I rarely use them now - only when I need to game with headphones on, rarely, if ever, for music.

Well do to the lack of response regarding the iBasso amps, I've decided to settle for the E7 with the possibility of getting the E9 in the future. I'd like to thank everyone on this thread again, as you guys have helped me immensely.
