How are they for the price?
 
I'm a bit of a basshead, but really, I don't care about the quantity so much as the quality. Mind you, I would like portables that are "fun" sounding. How do these fit me?
 
What other portables (BESIDES PORTA-PROS) are out there?

Not at all... the DT235 is definitely not fun-sounding in the conventional sense. If you want something that sounds livelier in the price range that's also semi-circumaural check out the JVC HA-M750 or even Maxell DHP-II. The DHP II isn't nearly as rugged as the DT235 but it's extremely comfy and quite fun. The Panasonic HTX7 is another fun small circumaural. If you want on-ear you may want to check out the Meelec HT-21 that will be released in a week or two.

Mind you, how long after release do you think they'll start popping up on sites like Amazon for sale?

I don't know but it wouldn't be unlike Meelec to have some sort of Christmas presale promo on their site.

My parents won't buy off Meelec's site, no matter what I tell them >.>
I might be able to get one of my friends to order them for me though
