I have the Plus coming in next week but I already reviewed the COP a long long time ago. According to Beyer Germany there isn't any difference in sound so I wasn't planning on reviewing it (again).
Have you listened to them side be side?

Hi there! Can anyone confirm if the Custom One Pro's pleather earpads are similar to that of the DT 770/32 or DT 770M ? I have the DT 770s and would like to try pleather ones on them. :) I like the sub-bass on DT 770 but would like slightly more mid-bass too.

There are non-velour pads available for the DT770 series under the name 'EDT 770 S' (the 32Ohm variant comes with them).

Because I do not know how to really judge sound, I can only give you random opinions / facts about these headphones. I have had these headphones for 6 months now and and have only used these exclusively the entire time as my over the ear headphones:

1) When you wear them with glasses they get really uncomfortable after 2 hours of constant use
2) They get a lot of attention
3) I use them in position 3 as this is my favorite one

My friend was on TV DJing for the Critics Choice TV Awards yesterday. A day before the event, he had been using a pair of beat up Audio-Technica M50x and I suggested he borrow my Custom ones as a flashy pair of headphones and he loved the look and sound :)

Just ordered the velour pad to use at home (because silver velour pad are ugly, can't really use that outside. I hope it won't change the sound signature too much.

They are available in black... EDT 770 VB

  Thanks !
Couldn't find them in Europe, ordered them on amazon.com but the difference vs silver ones is 12€.

Amazon UK has them here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyerdynamic-DT990-Velour-Earpad-Pack/dp/B008XEYT6G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433236690&sr=8-1&keywords=edt+770vb

Those are for 990. I thought that only 770 are working on Custom one Pro?

I think size-wise they fit, but the construction seems to differ a bit and may therefore give unexpected changes to the sound.

I have two pairs in their original packaging, but I'm in Austria... PM me if you're interested.

I  think that they have the same diameter? 770s velour and 990s velour are different. 990s are softer and thicker I think.
I posted the link since you said you were looking for EDT 770 VB and the link was for exactly that.

You do NOT wanna use the velour pads from the 880/990 on the closed back Beyers. You will lose all the bass, and the sound becomes completely treble oriented. You must find ones MADE for the 770, or something made for closed backs.

The 770 velours are completely different from the 880/990 velours.
