OK so I tried a couple of Chinese pads and these hybrid ones just raise my Amiron Home to GOD LEVEL. Really. They are that good:
They look pleather but look closely on the inside:

Hybrid velvet on the top and inside, pleather on the outside:

Twice as thick as stock:

What these pads do is add an amazing lower midrange and bass quantity while still retaining bass quality. This is the most speaker-like experience I have ever had. Imagine a strong crossfeed. It also noticeably improves some of the siblance issues.
If you like V-shape curves, like I think you do when you admire the Amiron Home, you'll love this. For pop, rock, metal, I just rolled my eyes in disbelief how good this is. It retains the stock sound signatue, and improves on it. Vocals are still a bit recessed like they used to be, and the instrumentals that were already good are now just mind-boggling. So engaging.
For future reference, I also tried the sheepskins from that same store, and from another store a pair of perforated pleather like the ones in some posts above.
The perforated pleathers also get my recommendation if you don't want to exaggerate the V-shape, but appreciate a small bass boost, tame the treble a little, yet take a significant step up in spaciousness. They sound very much like the stock pads, but with increased soundstage. The latter probably because the pads are twice as thick as the stock ones, so the driver is further away.
The sheepskins I cannot recommend at all. They add an enormous rumble in the lows, and exactly that: heaps of bass but with very poor quality, muddy.
I also tried the three pads out on my T1.2. Here, I can recommend the perforated pleathers for again the reason of balancing the bass and treble out a little. Interestingly, the hybrids just sound weird with bass bleeding into the mids. And again the sheepskins are just awful. I cannot recommend either of them.
In closing, those hybrid velvet / pleather pads just really draws me to my Amiron Home. More so than my T1.2. Wow.
Edit: I see that the store where I bought them originally now no longer sells them. These alternatives look exactly the same, velvet on the top and the inside, pleather on the outside: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001775567919.html
