You should give my EQ for the Amiron Home a try. I think you will be blown away by the sound quality improvement. This makes the Amiron sound completely balanced and natural, but keeps its warmish signature in place.

Pre-Amplifying: - 2

50Hz: + 0.5
63Hz: + 0.5
80Hz: - 0.5
100Hz: - 1
125Hz: - 1
160Hz: - 1
200Hz: - 1
250Hz: - 1
315Hz: - 1
1kHz: + 0.5
1.25kHz: + 1
1.6kHz: + 1
2kHz: + 1
2.5kHz: + 1
3.15kHz: + 1
4kHz: + 1
5kHz: + 0.5
8kHz: - 0.5
Which EQ do you use? Can these be used on pc?

I love this headphone, an end gamer for me paired with either my DV 336SE or Jots. It has better sq than my hd600 which is my favorite among 600, 650 and 58x IMO.

Honestly it does have better sound quality than the Senns, while tuning is different it’s just a more resolving and higher fidelity headphone. It’s hard for me to listen to the Senns for extended periods of time after owning the Amiron Home and T1.2. I like the Senns in shorter sessions for the difference in presentation but if I have extended listening sessions something seems off and I have to go back to my Beyers.

This is just an update here on what happened to me at Amazon. I am sure some will remember what happened a couple months back. I bought the T1 2nd Gen for 900 Canadian and tax. Amazon then screwed me over, and cancelled my order without notice, claiming it was not in stock. Right after doing this, they increased the price almost 200 bucks higher, and listed the headphones as "in stock" again. This is some garbage right here. I decided to contact Amazon again to get something done about this.

I ended up complaining to management about this. I said that since I am a long time customer with many purchases, this was unacceptable for them to be engaging in these dishonest business practices. At first, they denied doing anything, so I continued pushing them. I ended up asking to be transferred to one of the leadership team members, and they looked at my account and orders. They saw that the order was cancelled when the headphone was listed at 899, and then changed to almost 1100 right after. I demanded that they do something to make sure I am satisfied here. Interesting enough, they have now given me two options. Number 1: I can get the T1 2nd Gen for 899 plus tax, which is what I paid before. Number 2: I can get the DT 1990 for 600 plus tax. Remember, these prices are Canadian too. I am now trying to decide what one to get here.

Having owned the T1.2, Amiron Home, DT 1990, and DT 1770. I say get the T1.2 for comfort, sound quality, reliability/durability (the DT 1770/1990 headband cable can be a point of failure), as well as a 5 year factory warranty (on the T1.2) vs 2 year warranty. Even though the DT 1770/1990 seem the most robust physically they are actually the most fragile of the current full-size Tesla Beyers due to thin cables. Amiron Home is a little more durable due to the dual-entry cable but internal cables are thin. The T1.2 has robust and thick internal cables (some of the thickest I’ve seen in a headphone) and is made to a higher quality standard In terms of driver marching, etc. being their flagship.

This is definitely an interesting situation here. I have been thinking about getting a bit more detailed and energetic headphone again, and something not as layed back as the Amiron. When they offered me the DT1990 at that price as a second option, it is pretty tempting. At 600 and tax, it is 300 bucks less than the 900 dollar and tax T1 2nd Gen. This is a tough call.

Yeah that does make sense. The DT 1990 is definitely more energetic than the T1.2. Not really more detailed the DT 1990 is just more forward with its detail, but actual resolving ability goes to the T1.2 imho. The DT 1990 is fun to listen to though. How much is the DT 1990 there normally? The T1.2 was a replacement/upgrade for the Amiron Home for me. The DT 1990 will work as a compliment better.

Indeed, my standards are damn high, and I EQ every headphone to make it sound completely correct. Either of these two will end up with the EQ treatment as well. One thing to mention as well here. They did state that if I bought the DT1990, and I was not completely satisfied, I can do a return on it, and then change up to the T1 2nd Gen at the agreed upon price they offered. This is a can't lose situation here.

Alright, I just bought a DT1990 Pro. There was no hassle at all, and Amazon immediately gave me the discount to 600 Canadian plus tax pricing on it. If anyone would like, I can put up a comparison of the DT1990 Pro and my Amiron Home once the headphone shows up. To be fair, I will give the 1990 at least 20 hours of burn time before I give any assessment on it. I am looking forward to getting this puppy.

I may end up buying the Amiron Home again for home/bedtime use. I sold my previous pair a while ago and now miss the sound quality!

Has anyone found a pair of headphones at the Amiron Home price point with even better sound quality? I’m just looking for possible other options to explore before I pull the trigger on the Amirons.
