So I'm saving up a little money to upgrade my system...I'm currently running ATH-A700's through the headphone amp of the EMU Tracker Pre USB (middle sibling of the 0202 and 0404) playing FLAC files from my Windows 7 workstation. I'd like to upgrade either the headphones or get a separate headphone amp, using the Tracker Pre as a DAC only. I'm considering the Denon D5000's for phones, but I heard that I wouldn't really notice a great difference in sound quality unless I got a nice amp to drive them. I like the look of the Little Dot MKIII, but I can only get one or the other right now. Which would be the better upgrade at this time? Is it even a good match? Any advice would be appreciated.
