Hi all,
 
Novice audiophile who is having trouble finding really nice headphones for hip hop and R&B music. I have bought and tried the following different headphones -- Shure SRH840 and Denon D2000. Both are decent, but neither blew me away.
 
As I mentioned in the title I currently have a iBasso T3 amp and a Cowon S9.
 
Not looking to break the bank, but please let me know if you guys have any better suggestions.

Sorry, I should mention that I want over-the-ear headphones as I already have Grado SR225is that I love for open-ear.

Looking to spend no more than $300, but if there is something a little over that you feel is that much better than please let me know.

Even the D2000 didn't impress you?  Hmm, how about Beyerdynamic's DT 990?  Its got a nice nice aggressive sound signature along with a strong and deep bass responce.
