Which version of this phone (the Lenovo Vibe X3) would I need to get 4G Lte on T-Mobile in the USA? Do I need the X3a40 or X3c70? Or is there another version? Thanks

My S7 Edge audio really sucks and looking for a smartphone that has great DACs.

I think the HTC 10 is the next phone upgrade for me.
currently I have the lg nexus 5... is 3 yrs old with only 16gb storage
(yes you can laugh: this was before i got back into audio)
and you can't expand the nexus.

anyway in canada the HTC 10 is not currently carried by my telco carrier Telus.
...not yet anyway (only big bad Bell)...but we'll see...things can change.

there is also the HTC nexus being made for google
...so i'll prob await it's release and see reviews comparing
with the htc 10...and by then it's price will have dropped anyway.

Yep I think this will be the one for me also. I currently own a Samsung Galaxy Note II (International) which has a Wolfson DAC, it's time to upgrade though as it's starting to get slow now with every day tasks. It's been amazing for me though, I'll have owned it for 4 years come this October, if the HTC 10 can match that then I'll be a happy owner.

I did some research about my ZTE Axon mini.
Previously, I wasn't able to hear any difference between my LG G2 and the AK4961 DAC equipped ZTE Axon mini.

To properly enable the internal DAC, you'll need the newest version of poweramp (Version 3.0, still in beta).
Unfortunately I am still stuck on 16-bit/48khz instead of the promised 32-bit/192khz.

This is a known issue on the poweramp forum: http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8735-requests-for-hi-res-support/&page=2
One of the developers of Poweramp posted:
"While ZTE Axon series of smartphones have (as claimed by ZTE) capable hardware, I wasn't able to get anything beyond 16bit/48khz from that device (tried Axon Mini @ 5.1.1). May be 6.0 (when official OTA comes) will change something. ZTE only claims HiFi support - this is not Hi-Res."

Personally I do think ZTE claims Hi-Res playback, so I contacted ZTE customer support to inquire about enabling Hi-res playback.
I'll keep you posted.

So I bought the Lenovo Vibe A7010 (K4 note), and while the SQ and performance are great, the sound is not very loud when using headphones. I have to listen to music at over half the volume bar. I have Kilimanjaro 2, but the phone is so big that it ends up too cumbersome to walk with the Fiio AND the Vibe. Does anyone else have loudness issues with their respective Vibe X3/Vibe X3 youth/K4 Note?

Ok, so I played around with the Dolby Atmos settings and got the loudness and even clarity up considerably with the Game settings (ups the loudness, adds surround virtualizer and volume leveler). It pretty much doubled the loudness

Si will buy the redmi note 3 snapdragon because from previous post I gathered it has quite good audio.

Where I live there is this shop and I am somewhat confused.

It sells the:

Redmi 3 for 160$ with Qualcomm MSM8939v2 Snapdragon 616
http://www.hakse.com.kh/ProductDetail.aspx?ID=1642

Redmi note 3 for 185$ with Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10
http://www.hakse.com.kh/ProductDetail.aspx?ID=1618

Redmi note 3 pro for 250$ with Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650
http://www.hakse.com.kh/ProductDetail.aspx?ID=1681

When you are in the shop, what is the easiest way to check if snapdragon ? I have to open the package and read the manuel ?

thanks

I have the Axon Elite. In Poweramp it says it plays 24bit 192khz:

Output/Hi-Res Output (experimental)/Wired Headset/Aux

Don't know if I'm looking at the right place, but it really makes a difference when it's on.

Finally got my Huawei P9 in the mail today, and I got to say it sounds quite decent. As expected it doesn't play as loud as some devices so for those with high impedance or low sensitivity cans might want to run it though an amp as well. The sound however is clear and detailed, and it pairs up quite well with my DT990 Pros.

Lenovo (at least in Brazil) will announce new phone(s) in June 9 and Moto X4 rumours are starting, @evleaks says it will feature a snadragon 820,
3 GB/4 GB RAM, 32 GB storage and
AMOLED 5,5" Quad HD screen. I'm curious to see if the will add their recent hi-red audio pack to the "motorola" phones.
