FWIW--just went thru the entire "Portaphiles got no love" thread and found the battery info for the "new"--as of 4/13/08--iPower 520 Pro LiPo battery. Posts " 148 on page 10, and posts 156 and 157 are very interesting insights into batteries and determining battery lfe. Looks like I 'll have to buy these guys plus the charger, which I'm told will also charge regular NiMh batteries.
These higher-performance Lithium Polymer batteries are from Trew audio.

also in the same trheads: post 120 on Page 8 it's stated that the Ultralife 1200 maH disposable 9v LiPo delivered 20 hrs performance for the Portaphile; I never got that performance from mine but if you do want to try the Ultralife try to find the plastic body style; the aluminum-clad doesn't fit the Portaphile and needs to be sanded down quite a bit, which can be messy. Stated this on one of the pages of that thread

I have those batteries comin from brooklyn. Im going to see how that works. If its not enough, i might have to get those.

what do you think of these batteries Your Online Source For 2 Bay 9 Volt Li-ion Charger + 2 x 9V 600 mAh Li-ion Rechargeable Battery seems like a pretty decent price....

I use 9V 400mah Li-ion Powerizer Rechargeable Batteries and they work great! They charge fast too (an hour and 30 mins to fully charge). Wow! I've never seen 600mah 9V batteries before.

would like to see dimensions of this 600 mah battery. Size is important in fitting into some of these amps, the Portaphle in particular. I know the 520 mah batteries fit because they've been used but unsure of dimensions of the 600 because they aren't stated on the website

Wow, now that i think of it...i hope the batteries i bought fit in my maxxed portaphile!
If not, ill have to use them in a different amp and ill still have to buy more!...lol

Ok, i got them!

Hitech smart charger holds 2 -9v lithium ion batteries.

And i got 2 e^3 li-9v batteries, 500 mah

So, ill see how it works. Gonna time them on my Max Portaphile.

Yayyyy....Lasts me about 6 hours on my Portaphile maxxed! So 2= 12 hours, which is the whole day, then at night i charge it. Works out fine.
