OK. I know there are tons of threads and reviews about $150-200 headphones but there isn't any threads about classical rock and hard rock performances (led zeppelin, guns n roses, the beatles, ac/dc, queen...) So i think the best headphones for $150-200 are ath-m50, HFI-580 and srh-840 but which one of them is best for classical rock and hard rock. I am not going to be listening to electro, trance, hip-hop and that kind of music. The headphones are going to be just for rock music and rarely dubstep.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

BTW; sorry for my English.

I think the hd25 could be better for rock. The portability is a plus but the comfort is not for everyone. I haven't heard the m50s so can't comment on that.

It's a little more expensive than m50s and looks very uncomfortable. But if its sound quality is better who cares, right? I will look for some reviews about m50 vs hd25.

It's still in your price range. \m/

You'll find the basic edition for $150-165. Cheaper if you look harder. Of course the M50 is still at least $ 20-30 cheaper. I don't think you'll go wrong with either though.

Here's the adidas version for $175

Check out the deals thread too. There seems to be refurb DT 770 Pros going for $110 on eBay.

Grado SR225, Sennheiser HD25 II, V-Moda M-80, Audio Technica ATH M50 in that order for rock.

Here is the problem: I live in Turkey. I can hardly find a m50 around here and can't buy from amazon because if it is over $50 it can't pass the border. It is a law (a stupid one). So I have to find a headphone in Turkey and it is really really hard. People around here think beats is the best headphones ever. But I will look for them. If I find any Grado SR225s I will go with them.

Lastly; does grado SR225 have forward mids and enough lows and highs.

Oh I forgot to say. Sound leakage and isolation is very important for me. I will use the headphones outside. On the bus, train and mostly at my school.

And BTW I looked at grado reviews and it seems to have GREAT mids but it lacks at bass department. Normal highs I guess. I know mids are more important for rock music but don't I need bass.

The Grado SR 225i has good bass, but it's not for bassheads.  The problem for you is that is open and leaks a great deal.

In the U.S. the closed Shure SRH 840 is about the same price as the M50.  It's more balanced--has great mids and a mid bass hump.  Originally it cost almost twice as much as the M50.  It's a better choice if you want a balanced sound--if you can get it.
