Best headphone purchase, worst headphone purchase you have made

To the original poster - the 595 improves quite a bit with a good solid amp.

Worst = ETY-ER6. Dissapointed in their sound, build quality, & customer support too.

HD650 overall fav so far, but could change very soon with K1000 & 701 on the way.

SR-60 my old stand-by entry into a better quality can.

KSC-35 best bang for the buck I ever heard.

Best: My soon to be Darth Beyer'd DT770-80

Worst: Probably my Ultrasone iCans...I never really gave them a chance though

Indeed!

How such an uncomfortable retro-looking headphones can even compare with those sleek, trendy clip-ons.

Best: I really can't say yet.
Worst: Ety ER6i.

Worst or biggest disappointment would have to be Rega Ear amp. Best or biggest surprise would have to be Philips HP910 followed by HP460, certainly best bang for the buck.

repeatedly buying the ex71 everytime it broke over a year (i think it was like 4-5 times, and i never kept the reciept) sux, i could have spent the money elsewhere.
e4c's are my best value so far, i got them for £130 new from where i used to work.
i have um2's on the way that i traded for a 60gig ipod photo, will see how that works out.

Best: Grado HP-2. Neutral sounding goodness. Currently indecisive between bowls and flats.

Worst: Sennheiser HD-595, Etymotic ER-6, Grado SR-60, Grado SR-225.
All horrible wastes of money. I advise everyone to stay away from those cans.
