Best bang for buck purchase ever

The best bang for the buck purchase I have made was a Stax Lambda Pro (in near mint condition) with an SRM1/MK2 for $400. If I had purchased that setup a few years earlier, I would have saved myself a few thousand dollars.

Lambda pro (previously yours) and SRM-T1 was mine too and bought for just a smidgen over twice that amount. Thanks for that, I think I understand where your coming from.

I just noticed that there is one for the equivalent of 528 dollars now if you know where to look in Iceland. No wonder Spritzer gets all the good deals.

I guess i should have noted saved thousands in dynamic equipment. Of course, it is a gateway drug to 'stats and we know where that can lead.

AKG K 701, Phonak PFE 112, Etymotic ER-4P, Corda Symphony. These I consider my best audio purchases when it comes to bang for the buck.

(Beside my lime-green Z750: great sound... and more.)

HD580s for 120 bucks on amazon right before they were discontinued. They are still my primary headphones. Tweaked them with some hd650 cable and hd600 grills. They are truly an awesome pair of headphones - especially with classical music. Best 120 I ever spent.

Audio-gd Compass with promotional pricing. Unbelievable, hands down best bang for the buck currently available for headphone fans right now.

Mine would be a tie between my...

... "new" version modified HD580s... and...

... Millett Hybrid MiniMax amp... and...

... Marantz SA8001 CDP...

all three being "huge bang-for-buc" pieces... HUGE!

Oh man, it's hard to say.

I mean the Koss ESP-950 complete w/ E.90 amp and travel bag for $150 + ship is overall the best deal ever but buying a Yamaha YH-1 (identical to HP-1) for $23 shipped was pretty sweet too.

The cheapest would be the ER-6i i bought for $6 shipped but i did have to recable them.

If we're expanding beyond headphones, I did buy two Toshiba Gigabeat S30's for $13 shipped and just had to replace the LCD on one of them - which was easy because i already had an S30 with a bad main board and a good screen.

Top 3:
1. Stax Lambda (original) with SRD-7 SB for Euro 50 / $65
2. Micro Seiki MS-2 Electrostats with MX1 energizer. Euro 25/ $33 (were supposed to be broken but had the actual parts for repair already fitted, just in the wrong way. This is probably one of the last working pairs on the planet because the original membranes of these things disintegrated quite rapidly.)
3. DT990 original for Euro 20/ $25 (sold to topic starter
