I'm looking for a pair of top-end closed-back on-ear headphones to replace my Sennheiser HD25's.

- They must sound *very* good. Certainly better than the HD25's. I like a wider soundstage and a more balanced sound than the HD25's.
- Price doesn't matter, although I like a good price/quality ratio :)
- Back must be closed, because of the minimum amount of sound leak.

I've found some headphones, but I'm not sure if these are much better than my HD25's:

- Audio Technica EW9
- Audio Technica EW10 (not sure if these are worth the price?)
- Audio Technica M50 (although I like the size of the EW-line better)
- Beyerdynamic T50P (these get mixed reviews)

I hope someone can help me out :)

HD25-1 I (the expensive one, but the first version)

Again, those are great phones, but I'm spoiled with my SM3's (portable listening) and Beyer T1's (hifi listening), so I was wondering if the "ultimate" on-ear exist :)

I think ESW10, EW10 are very highend closed headphone and they been compared to JH13Pro.

ESW10s aren't a massive improvement over ESW9s, I would recommend either of them however.

The HFI-780 is an over-the-ear phone right? That's a pity, should be a nice one....

I think these are fake ESW9's:

Thanks, but I really like to have a headphone like the HD25-1, which sits on the ears. Because I often wear them 3-4 hours a day, they must not be too "earstrophobic".

I'm leaning towards the EW9 and ES10 at the moment, but not sure if they are better than the HD25-1's (sound quality wise)

Now I'm thinking about getting an open design (like Grado RS1i/RS2i or Alessandro MS-Pro) and use my HD25's when I doesn't want to disturb anyone.
