I need a nice pair of over ear headphones, I dont really know much about headphones.

Can anyone tell me the best headphones for under $250, either noise canceling or not and reasons why they are good.

 

Music genres- anything really, a bit more rock than anything else

Headphone preference - comfortable

ipod mainly

on ear or over ear

whatever you do, steer clear of the Beats, all overpriced and sound bad especially at their price point...
 
I could easily recommend the ATH-M50's I LOVE THEM
 
Others all full-sized, over ear closed backs (from what I've read over the years)

Shure 440 is also a close competitor.
 
Sennheiser Hd 25s if you find a good bargain.
 
Overall though i find the M50s extremely easy to recommend, with lots of burn-in they become extremely fun to listen too with great bass and a good all round headphones.
